Just a day after their intense match against Temasek Hall, the female volleyball team are playing their semi-finals against Raffles Hall. The team played the best of 5 games, winning overall with a sweeping score of 3-0. The girls showed no signs of fatigue from the game one day prior, and played to win.

The girls were already leading by a large margin after the match started. Multiple service aces by Yao Yi (a whopping total of 4) and good sets by the team followed by beautifully aimed spikes won the team 8 points in a row. An interesting rally ended in the Eusoff winning the point, bringing the total score to 11-1. Eusoff managed to keep the score margin wide throughout the first set, missing a few power spikes and drops by Raffles Hall. The crowd was definitely treated to an engrossing game. We ultimately clinched the first set with an impressive score of 25-9.

LYLC Kai Qi goes for another one of her booming spikes.

EH 1:0 RH

Beastly spike by freshie superstar Yunxi along with a flawless drop ball by outstanding IVP player Kai Qi brought the score to 3-1. Following that, a couple of misplays by Eusoff saw the score tied at 3-3. Bik Juen redeemed herself from her unfortunate service error during the TH game with TWO service aces, showing her true potential! The girls looked extremely comfortable on court, with smiles plastered across every player’s faces. In the blink of an eye, the score became 11-4 with consistent good plays by Eusoff (and monster blocks by Kai Qi!) At 20-10, Nicole impressively did a SERVICE ACE and the crowd went wild with slight surprise! Amazing recovery and good defence by the team paved the way for the second win for the girls, as they bagged the second set with the score of 25-16.

EH 2:0 RH

The final set was a tight one, as the teams found themselves tied at 4-4. RH subsequently won two points in the row and were leading for the first time in the match. The teams exchanged sick spikes but good defence by Zoey, Jolene and Yao Yi turned the set in favour of Eusoff. The score became 14-11 to Eusoff, with a few cheeky plays by Aileen and a service ace by Yunxi. Fan-favourite Sheana subbed Yen Yi at the score of 21-16, and served into the net. She nonetheless stayed her cute and bubbly self, and hopped off court for Yen Yi to finish the game well with the rest of the players. (We are proud of you, Sheana! Yea girl!) Yao Yi took the final point with a powerful spike, winning our final set with a score of 25-17.

Last year’s captain Yen Yi was almost unstoppable the whole night, quickly converting her spikes to points.

Final score: EH 3:0 RH

The girls were ecstatic as they were officially through to finals! We were all extremely proud of their achievements so far in IHG, and they truly surpassed all (already high enough) expectations we had for them! They embody teamwork and resilience, and an undying fighting spirit. Let’s go Eusoff Volleyball! Get that IHG gold! (fingers crossed)
