Final Score: 9-0 to Eusoff
The opening match for the girls honestly felt like a service training for them, to be really harsh. Most of the sets were won without much rallies and it was more of a test of how the girls perform their services under pressure than anything else, and they rose to the challenge and performed really well today! All the sets were completed with the lowest score difference being 15-4. Now, let’s take a closer look at how this panned out!
For our first line, we have our kindest captain, Shyun, Xinyin, Ash and Shak. For the first set, the girls were still getting into the game and took a bit of time to warm up, during which we conceded a few points, but the girls hurriedly got their mojo back on as many ace serves caught PGP serving the ball out and us gaining the points! The first set ended with 15-4. Second was Shak’s one-man show, as she had ace serves all the way and PGP barely rallied with them because they couldn’t receive her ball well. Shak practiced her services and they proved excellent today with a final score of 15-0. In the third set, the girls were confident as ace serves kept coming one after another, so much so that the PGP girls got confused halfway and they decided to play takraw or soccer with the volleyball instead??? I believe it might have been because I was entertaining the Instagram live audience with scores from our takraw boys’ semis during their breaks today (good job takraw boys!!). With that, the last set ended with 11-2.
Shak truly embodied the eusoff pride with her mismatched black and yellow socks, maybe that brought her some good huats for the 15-0 one-man service show
For our second line, we have Jerica HOOTS, Angel, Yunxi and Gwen. To no surprise, we performed well during the service training match and had many ace serves and Jerica hoot-ed our way through to 15-2. During this set, PGP seemed to have lost their mojo, as they ball watched quite a bit for some reason. During the second set, we lost a point to PGP because apparently Angel wasn’t supposed to serve first and there was lowkey some drama happening on the court, but we quickly saved our point and got back on track with the set ending at 15-2. For the few rallies that happened here, our Eusoff girls very smartly kept passing the ball lightly over to the front court of PGP’s side, yet the PGP girls didn't seem to learn, as they fell for it every single time. In a similar ace-serving fashion, we ended the third set with 11-2.
here we have jericahoots hooting her opponents, u damn cool leh REACHING FOR THE SKIES
For the third and last line, we have Nikki B, Vic, Bik and Faith. The first set started with our volleyball superstar serving, and she aced all the way to a score of 15-0, not allowing the PGP girls to have a chance at all. The second set started with some missteps from the girls like serving into the net or serving the ball out (we just had to give some chances ok), but the girls got it back and ended with 15-3. The last set ended with a 11-2 and more good setups from our girls, as they found pockets of spaces to hit the ball too (especially the front court).

Overall, the girls won all 9 sets and did really, really well! Next week, they’ll be back at UTown Sports Hall for their prelims against Sheares, same day, same time, so don’t forget to tune in! Good job today girls!
