Our Tennis girls stepped into the court, ready to show off their true skills and hard work they’ve been putting in for IHG. Despite their defeat against TH in the first game, they seemed to come back even stronger and well-prepared this round, intensely warming up an hour even before the match started. With cheerful bantering and cries of support from supporters and teammates alike, our first match kick started with a bang.
Our white skirt favourite Tricia starts off the game strong, winning her very first point with a splendid get. While she did falter a little, having a close call at 4-3, EH leading. However, she became highly driven and focused for the next part of the match, with smashing returns time after time. Her opponent even had to go on a treasure hunt for the ball all because of her. Not only is she a beauty, her shots were a beauty as well. She was basically playing a game of cat and mouse with her opponent, although occasionally she’d fail and end up losing the point. But she always bounced back, and unleashed a fury of forehands, burning her opponent to the ground. She ultimately wins the match at 9-4!
Tricia sent her opponent scrambling all over the court with her clever shots.
EH 1-0 KE
Next up is our k factor black Nike socks Huien. Huien was a little like a slow burner, teasing us with her wins. She was so close throughout the first half of the match, bringing the score to 4-3. She never stopped trying however, and eventually began to start ramping up the speed of her serves. Hearsay she was so good, with amazing forehands that left some of our tennis boys so stunned till they called her Federer*. She manages to slowly climb back up to the top with her quiet and steely determination, and some more powerful serves. After smashing in her final return, she wins the game with beautiful winner, ending the game at 9-6.

Elicia and Violet were our first doubles pair, and they definitely put up a great match against their opponents. They hit winners and volleys one after another, always ready for the next return. They were so good and aggressive that their opponents were absolutely stunned by them. KE tries to counter strike back with a powerful serve but Violet zipped through the court, and managed to land a return. Violet then seemed to be a little tired as she double faults not once, but twice, but all is good. We trusted that they would be able to bounce back and they did not disappoint as Elicia smacks the ball sky high, nearly landing on her opponent’s head. The KE team then called a timeout to regroup and the game continued swiftly after. The pair just showed off their sike chemistry with even more points. With an out by KE, the pair finally won the match, completely ending their opponents at 9-0.
Elicia and Violet celebrate after a hard-earned point.
EH 3-0 KE
Power couple Faith and Leyi were up next for doubles, with both of them showing off their experience as tennis players. Faith was rocking her no.95 jersey, just like bus 95 that leads us around NUS. Bus 95 is our most reliable bus, just like Faith, who is ever reliable. Leyi also displayed impossible feats of precision and speed, showing her opponents absolutely no mercy at all. Her returns were blazin past her opponents, and she managed to brute force her way to win her first game of the day. Faith seemed to hit a mini bump as she kept serving the ball out of bounds, giving the net too much love. But continuous amazing rallies (that seemed to improve as the supporters’ cheers intensified) meant that the pair was serving their opponent, and well. They then continued their match with amazing ease and power, even YEETING the ball out of their court into the supporters (sorry Yusoff!) and wins the match 9-3.
Faith goes for a strong smash against her opponent.
EH 4-0 KE
Shu Ling seemed to be on a redemption arc as she finessed her way throughout her entire match today. Shuling started off a little weak but she soon erupted like a dormant volcano, ready to kill her opponents. Despite the rocky start, Shuling still managed to prove herself by winning the first game. One of her trademark moves seemed to be serving the ball real low and close to the net, causing her opponent to miscalculate and end up not returning her serve. She really alpha-ed her opponent throughout the game, with powerful aces that left her opponent scrambling left and right to return. After a series of winners, Shuling wins the whole match at 9-0! What a silent killer!
Final Score: EH 5-0 KE
