Once again our female Tennis team has proved that there is no one better than them. Unlike many matches where girls didn’t break a sweat, yesterday's match was rather close, but our team still managed to win with an overall score of 3-2!
1st singles Erica 6-1, 6-0 (W)
Do I need to say anything about this match? The score speaks for itself, “Erica is undefeatable!”. You could see it in her eyes, the relief of I have got this after the first few points. As always Erica was calm, composed and her performance was amazing. During the first set, she made a few silly mistakes here and there but it is understandable because players need time to warm-up, and the first set is usually considered as the set where you test waters. By the second set our star player did not give any chance to the opponent and won by a spectacular score of 6-0.

Tough fight for both Violet and Shu Ling, but their teamwork is still something to applaud for!
Next up is our first doubles. Unfortunately, this was one of the very few times where we see the girls lose. Violet and Shu Ling were up to an amazing start where they managed to win the first by a score of 6-2. However, as said, the first set is usually to test water and understand the game better. KR started to make their way back into the game by winning the second set with a score of 1-6 and finally the last set with a score of 4-6. Well, we’ll applaud KR for this match as everyone knows it's not easy to deal with eusoffians when it comes to sports, and another round of applause to our girls for the fierce fight!
2nd singles Elicia 2-6, 2-6 (L)
Next is the second singles which again is, one of the rare times where we see a Eusoffian lose. Elicia started good, however the opponent caught up pretty fast and took the lead. Even though the opponent was not an easy one, Elicia was calm and ready to face whatever obstacle came her way. She did her best and we have no regrets as it’s not always about winning on the courts but about fighting till the end. We applaud Elicia for her dedication and hard work.
2nd doubles Vivian and Faith 6-1, 6-1 (W)
Eusoff back to the game with an easy win for 2nd doubles making the overall score to be 2-2. Vivian and Faith have great chemistry on court. This match was an easy win for Eusoff. There was an air of relief after the first few points scored by Eusoff. If they had lost this game they would have lost the semi-finals. But the duo came to the rescue with a wonderful performance and an amazing score of 6-1 for both the sets.

This brings us to the match which was supposed to decide everything! Our ex-captain Felicia had the responsibility and burden of playing the deciding match to see if Eusoff could make it through semis and have a shot at finals! Well our captain performed just the way we all hoped. It was an easy win for her and even though being under a lot of pressure she was calm, composed and moreover consistent throughout the whole game.
Our girls have come a long way making their way up from the prelims all the way to the finals. We appreciate them for their dedication and hard work and hope to see them perform their best in finals. Tune in to finals to get some more action!
