It was a great start for the Table Tennis seasons, as our male Table-Tennis team faced off against KR for their very first match. Our boys were warmed-up and raring to go, each of them ready to face off against their respective opponents.

Quick Rules: A player wins the point when they return the ball over the net to the other side of the table. If they fail to hit over the net, their opponent gains the point. The ball can only bounce once on the table. A set is won when a player earns 11 points. Best out of 5 sets wins the match

1st Singles

To start, we had smiley man Chin Jan kicking of the match. As the very first player, he sure did not disappoint as he gave us a great showing! He executed mind-blowing forehand smashes that had his supporters going WILD, comfortably winning his first set at 11-6. He was never complacent and continued to keep up the momentum, despite a small period where it was tied up to 10-10, which he persevered and eventually won 12-10. His opponent was clearly unnerved by the sets that Chin Jan had taken and tried to fight back (KR used DRUM! It is not effective!) but smiley Jan never gave him a chance, and kept his winning streak throughout, taking his third set at 11-8. What an incredible player!

EH 1:0 KR

1st Doubles

Representing us for the first doubles was freshie superstar Daryl Chin and captain Chee Wan. Both of them seemed to be on the roll with smashing wins, and gave us many instagram-worthy shots and services right from the start. They easily took the first two sets at 11-2 and 11-2 respectively. They were just RAINING balls after balls onto their opponent, winning their third set easily at 11-2.

EH 2:0 KR

2nd Singles

Next up we had IVP star player Heng Kai to take over the baton. He seemed to be a little shocked at the start as his opponent led the game at 1-3. He tried his best to catch up but it was not easy, and he eventually lost his first set at 9-11. He was strategically forcing his opponents into faults, and they eventually tied at 6-6 during the second set. He hustled to win it at 11-7, and he kept up this momentum, winning the third set as well, bringing the overall game to 2:1. With this fiery desire, he won the fourth set at 11-6, winning the third match for Eusoff and securing their win against KR!

EH 3:0 KR

hengkai

Heng Kai played a rather tight game, but his carefully thought out moves proved to be strategically superior in the end.

2nd Doubles

Choon Hooi and Carlin steps up to face off with KR next. They seemed to be evenly matched initially, starting off at a score of 2-2. However, they were not going to entertain any nonsense as they got their focus, managing to gain an advantage over their opponents at 7-3. KR continued to put up a strong fight but our boys were up to the task as they worked even harder and eventually won the second set at 11-8. Following that win, the court was reignited with festive cheers once again as our KR opponents carelessly gave us point after point, allowing our boys to win another set at 11-6. However, it was a super TIGHT 4th set, as we reached match point not only once at 11-11, but twice at 12-12, but our boys thought enough was enough, and finally smashed the final point in true emphatic nature, winning the set at 14-12.

EH 4:0 KR

carlin

The legendary Carlin returned, and showed everyone a glimpse of his power.

3rd Singles

Last but not least, we have Hong Yi hoping to maintain the winning streak as he starts off the match with a killer shot at 1-0. Hong Yi was calm and focused the entire game, being a silent killer as he wins the first set at 11-6. Hong Yi proved to us he had immense skill and talent as he easily took the second set as well, at 11-2. Reaching 9-0 at the third set, Hong Yi was given strict orders by Chee Hwan to get 2 more quick kills and it worked effectively, allowing him to cleanly win with 11-0! In the blink of an eye, the match was over and our Table Tennis boys managed to sweep a clean victory woohoo!!

Final Score- EH 5:0 KR
