Determined and ready to make it into the finals, our Table Tennis boys were more than ready to face their opponent of the night, Raffles Hall. Our boys were full of fighting spirit and their intense warmups were just a taste of the spectacular show the boys would put up later.

First Singles

First up, we have IVP superstar and ex national youth player Heng Kai! The game was pretty intense from the start, with ties all the way, from 2-2, 4-4, 6-6, 7-7, 10-10 and up to 11-11, before he decided enough was enough and took the first set home at 13-11. Second set was extremely close as well, with RH gaining an advantage over him at 7-5, but he quickly caught up and made a crazy comeback to 9-8. It was a vengeance-filled game from then, with him winning the second set at 11-9. He was doing really great at the start of the third set, having a lead of 10-3, but a few errors and outs allowed his opponent to climb up 5 points to 10-8. Heng Kai was unfazed, and after a quick timeout to clear his head, he finally finished the final set at 11-8.

First Doubles

Next up, we have D1 umbrella academy Zhen You and SupErsTar Daryl. With pretty sik dancing moves from Zhen You and Daryl’s own spectacular smashes and assists, it’s no wonder that they finish the set relatively easily, at 11-4. The second set was a little intense, with rare pouts from Daryl (really quite cutie) whenever they missed or made a mistake, but all was still good as they won their second set at 11-8. With super quick reflexes that could rival that of xmen, our boys managed to return hit after hit bringing the score up 9-7. The fact that they knew how each other were going to react without even needing to look was a testimony of their incredible chemistry and they finally won the final set 11-8!

Second Singles

We then had Hong Yi ( @_redshirtz) for our second singles. His opponent was pretty tough right from the start, and despite his best efforts, he was unable to catch up with his opponent and lost the first set at 6-11. Hong Yi really did have pretty spectacular rallies, but somehow, luck or fate was just simply not on his side as he kept missing returns, or hit an unfortunate out. Right when I thought all hope was lost, Hong Yi really just became the underdog of the century, surprising us as he managed to tie at 6-6, and then finally winning at 11-8! It’s another tight set, as Hong Yi then tied with his opponent at 5-5 and then 8-8 before bringing another win home! With just one more set to secure EH’s place in the finals, all eyes were on Hong Yi for what we hoped would be the final set. However it’s an unfortunate loss for the fourth set at 5-11, but not to worry as he finally unleashes all he’s got for the final set and it’s a hard-earned victory for him at 11-8. What a fight!

EH 3:0 RH

Second Doubles

Next match, we have Carlin and Choon Hooi, the super smash bros! Carlin is newly back from exchange so maybe he’ll show us some of what he learnt from overseas! Carlin proves that he has not deteriorated at all as he and Choon Hooi show off smash after smash, taking back the first win at 11-8. While the second match was a little tight at 6-6, Carlin had some pretty cool curls that were so distracting, allowing them to win the second set 11-7! Unfortunately, our super smash bros lost the third set to RH, with a score of 11-8. But it’s still a-okay as our boys definitely have the skills and talent to do so! Carlin starts off the fourth set with a cute pout, while Choon Hooi starts smashing his balls back like no one’s business. With one acting cute the other acting cool, it’s no wonder the opponent can’t handle our boys as they finally win the fourth set, 13-11!

The Double C’s were on fire and displayed some wicked shots to take their match.

Third Singles

Captain Chee Wan was our final man for the job, as he stepped up to continue his team’s legacy. He is swift and speedy as he stomps hard to serve and scare his opponent, easily winning the first game 11-8. In what seems like a blink of an eye, Chee Wan then ended the next set real fast with just 11-2! I can only attribute it to him STUNNING his opponent with his stunning looks (handsome boy x1) and his stomp (issa pokemon special ability) While he seemed to hit a bit of a snag at 5-6, Chee Wan quickly recovered and got his head in back in the game, finally winning the final set at 11-8. Amazing how the winning streak was never broken!

Final Score- EH 5:0 RH

With another dominating performance, our table tennis boys are on to the finals. Do come down to support them in their final match as they play for gold!
