Our first table tennis match starts today at Temasek Hall against RH, which is a pretty formidable opponent. Our girls look pretty chill at the start of the match, which is kinda expected especially with their stacked line up.
First up, our favourite spotlight freshie Carlin was up. Her opponent was quite strong, as RH took the lead, with 3-6 in the middle of the game. However, it seems like Carlin was merely warming herself up and slowly caught up and amazingly taking the match with 11-9. Carlin has a cool serve too as she stomps the ground every time she serves and it seems to make her serve stronger. Her determination was really impressive as she pressed on with the point gap. But this opponent cannot be underestimated as RH took the second match. The stress was surely piling up on Carlin, but she was still able to play consistently and was able to take back the next 2 sets and earning one for Eusoff. This match was full of long rallies and the two of them seemed pretty evenly matched, although Carlin eventually broke through.
Next up we have Szehan and Sonia playing doubles. They surely had really good teamwork as they worked together effortlessly. Their opponents spent very long hush-hushing about strategies or hand signs under the table for each serve, but their strategies did not seem to work very well with this power pair, who were able to return smashes with smashes and work seamlessly together. It was surely impressive. With minimal mistakes, they easily took the 3 sets and thats another game to Eusoff.
Sze Han destroying opponents with her fierce backhand shot
Our third player, playing single, is Tina. She looked so composed even before the match started. Her control over the table was unbeatable as she gifted RH with smash after smash and trick balls. Her smashes were so fast it was almost hard to catch with the naked eye. She did almost hit the table at the third set, from trying to save the ball, giving RH a lucky point. However she brought it back and won her last set with 11-4. And the match has already came home to Eusoff, as 3 wins are already bagged.

Next up, Joy and Yingsin, a freshie doubles pair were up. We thought Joy would play in crocs, but guess not…They were up against an experienced senior pair, so it was quite tough for the two of them, although their nice serves and techniques did prove their worth. However, they did make several mistakes and lost various points, and lost the first and third set, They were able to get it back for the second set, with edge shots and great smashes by both of them. Unfortunately, they lost the last set by an inch with 11-13 to RH. BUT all’s good, because they can just take this as a learning experience. And it was so damn close…! What a good fight girls!

Ok, last game now…Cayla is up for a singles game, and she already looks like she has the game under her belt. I mean…not wrong since Eusoff already won. Even from the warm up you can see her expertise as her shots are so controlled and she seem to be able to get any type of ball RH gave her. The match started and she literally made table tennis look like the easiest sport ever. I would have been so scared if I was her opponent because she is literally dominating the table. She made minimal mistakes and her technique looks literally flawless. Then I guess giving chance became a bit boring, because she showed a bit of her true powers by smashing the ball HARD, and it almost bounced onto the ceiling! This girl is a legend. No wonder seniors series la. And she won 3-0 with a total of 5 points for RH in less than 2 minutes. Impressive. Complete destruction.
With this the first game draws to an end with 4-1 to Eusoff. Keep it up, table tennis! Yall got this.
