Today is our girl's second match, and the lineup included Zonghan, Tina, Charmayne, Joy, Shannon, Isabel and Carlin. Tina tells the team to try their best and have fun, with full confidence of her players. I know they got this, and they did. What a slay day for EHTT.
Zonghan was up first, she had some missed shots and her palm was sweaty, but that did not obstruct her win. The opponent cannot catch her spin and she won the set. However, she claimed that she was not feeling it today, which made me kinda scared because how monster would she be if she was feeling her a game…In the next set, Zonghan slowly got her rhythm back, and after losing a point from a mistake, she took the set 11-2. Guess she is getting the idea of the game. Then she sealed her opponent's fate with another 11-2, bringing back the first match to Eusoff, with her absolute control over the table.
Immense concentration from Zonghan as she pulls of a tricky backhand spin serve
Next, we have Tina and Charmayne. As always, Tina shows us who is the queen with her slay serves. Her second serve went into KR’s face LOLLL. Anyways, the KR girls kept giggling during the game, which was kind of annoying. But they were losing anyways. Charmayne did a slay edge shot and Tina showed us a few of her signature smashes. Yew kit, their T.M., took over telecommentary, and was slightly sad no one was reading it seems everyone knew EHTT was too good already. Charmayne did another trick shot thing and with great smashes by Tina we sealed their fate with 11-1 for the last 2 matches.
Tina and Charmayne dominating their match from the get-go
Third we have our second single, Joy, who definitely did not bring joy to KR, because of her love to keep smashing the ball whenever she had the chance. Joy need to calm down a bit. Yingsin enlightens Joy that KR is super scared of her smashes, so Joy does more of that, and she bring home the third set. No nerves, nothing. Not even sweating sia how good…The match is as good as Eusoff’s. An amazing job done by Joy.
Next, Isabel and Shannon are up. Isabel does a cool edge shot and Shannon played absolute defense. Whenever KR smashes, she seems to be able to block it. In volleyball terms, it would be a thunder block because of how good it is, and how it shocks KR and causes them to stumble and miss. KR also puts up a good fight- at least they weren't giggling like silly girls anymore and were on their serious faces. However, in the face of our strong and powerful doubles, they were not enough and we took home the fourth set.
Lastly, we have our notable freshie Carlin. At this point, we started betting on when her game would end. It started at 1030pm with a good smash by Carlin. I think KR was already shaken by the first point. Carlin is a beast and KR simply cannot catch up. They didn't even bother with a timeout even though the score was 8-0. Carlin took sympathy for her opponent and gave her one point. And the set ended like that. The referee was lowkey struggling to keep up with how good and fast Carlin was, and I don't blame him, since I feel like I was struggling too. Carlin won KR 33-3, with 3 points all given by Carlin herself, further proving her legendary status and the game ended in 9 minutes.
Following the footsteps of the table tennis boys, the girls won the set 5-0, with absolute domination over their opponents and take one step closer to their next match- semis.
