On 5 January 2020, the Table Tennis girls’ team played their first game against KE7 hall. The team managed to bag their first win with an overall score of 3-2 to Eusoff.
Ze Ning, the calm, collected and (extremely) consistent player ⭐
The first three matches - first and second singles as well as the first doubles - happened simultaneously. All three games definitely got everyone on the edge of their seats. The first singles, Ze Ning, was consistent throughout all three sets and secured a win for Eusoff with scores of 11-5, 11-4 and 11-5. There was a silent confidence about her throughout her matches which was assuring for the audience as well as the rest of her teammates looking on. In the court adjacent to hers, Sonia and Amanda also put up a remarkable performance, easily clinching three sets with impressive scores of 11-1, 11-6 and 11-3. They found themselves making a few more errors than desired in their second set but returned strong in their final set, especially after coach Sim Zhi Xin gave them great advice and a helpful pep talk during their break! Finally, the match filled with the greatest tension happened in the last court, with Zonghan up against KE7’s best player. Zonghan put up a great fight and made sure to maintain her composure till the end, but unfortunately conceded the game to KE7 with scores of 11-9, 2-11, 5-11 and 3-11. Nonetheless, Zonghan showed great fighting spirit and courage under great pressure.
Superstar duo, Amanda and Sonia, looking ever so fierce and ready

Subsequently, the second doubles and third singles matches began. Violet and Shuling took turns winning sets with their opponent, but ultimately lost the decider set to KE7. Nevertheless, they displayed great skill and tenacity even when lagging behind in scores, calmly returning the opponent’s strokes. The finals scores were 7-11, 11-4, 7-11, 11-3 and 5-11. It was the longest match of the evening but Violet and Shuling gave their very best throughout. Our very own Sports D. Pei Jie was visibly very proud of their performance, loudly cheering for them from start to finish (even with the weird looks from KE7 players). Our third singles, Sze Han, played extremely well against her opponent, who was no easy match. Even against such a formidable opponent, Sze Han’s mental strength proved to be no match for her opponent as she ultimately emerged victorious with scores of 11-8, 11-8 and 11-6. It was definitely very impressive to see Sze Han perform so well under pressure! Overall, the girls definitely exceeded our expectations. They were a strong kickstart to the IHG for Eusoff, and we are more than proud of them! Stay tuned for their future games as they progress, slowly but surely, towards the finals. Good luck girls!
