It was a Saturday morning where most of us will be sleeping in, enjoying our quality weekend time. Not for our swimmers though. The lineup consisting of Clarence, Yue Hong, Ethan and captain Kee Juan were up early and by the pool, awaiting their time to take the stage in the Male Breaststroke Relay Heats. The atmosphere was tense as our players felt nervous and were quietly doing their stretches and collecting their thoughts. A further delay in their match aided little to their anxiousness as we sat by and waited. However, fear not! With months of effort put into training and improving their swim strokes, one can only eagerly anticipate for the Eusoff swim team to swim their way to victory!
On your marks, get set and go! Starting off with a bang is Clarence, whose initial nervousness dissipated as soon as the horn sounded. After a clean dive into the water, his quick and decisive strokes allowed him to maintain his pace just slightly behind the swimmers of Sheares Hall and Temasek Hall. He was definitely not going down without a fight, as he tried his hardest to catch up with his strong opponents. He clocked in at about 39 seconds and passed it onto the next swimmer. But worry not for the team would not go down that easily!
Up next, we have Yue Hong representing the swim team! With his swift reaction, he plunged in deep before emerging from the water. Relying on his strong and powerful strokes, Yue Hong propelled himself forward and it was clear to see his desire to win for Eusoff! The rest of us spectators were tense with excitement, watching him chase down his opponents fervently. About 22 seconds in, Yue Hong managed to overtake both swimmers from Sheares and Temasek, even going as far as to widen the lead between himself and them! He clocked in at 33 seconds, giving us an estimated 4 seconds headstart.
Yuehong enters the water beautifully, proceeds to give us a solid lead!
Following Yue Hong, Ethan took the spotlight, swooping into the water with barely a splash! He easily maintained the lead, strokes cutting through the water cleanly while he glided his way through. He finished his swim at a timing of 35 seconds, providing at least a good 5 seconds headstart from the other teams. Wow, the Eusoff swimmers are really good! It definitely served as a confidence booster, to the team as well as to us standing by the sidelines, especially since we had finally arrived at the final leg of the race!
Last but not least is Captain Kee Juan! He dived in without hesitation, seemingly like a fish underwater before showing off his confident and dogged strokes. Even as his opponents trail behind and disappear from the camera frame, Kee Juan remains unyielding and persists to the end - the finishing line! Flying through the waters like a power force, he touches down with a timing of 32 seconds, earning the win for Eusoff with an overall timing of 2 minutes and 20 seconds, or to be more precise 2:20:50.
Captain KJ swims as quickly and swiftly as a fish and ends off with a BIG W!!
What a great performance by Eusoff’s swim team! You have made Eusoff so proud! Definitely a great start to the IHG season for EH Swim and here’s to more victories in the next few races! Rest well and let’s continue this unwavering spirit onto the next race!
