Last up on the agenda for the day, win the Female Breaststroke Relay Heats! Despite a long and tiring Sunday full of races, the Eusoff swimmers kept their energy and positivity up high, hoping to end the day with a final win. The combination of Cass, Kristie, Branda and Shannon were certainly a team to look out for! Any sign of nervousness flitted away as soon as they took their respective positions at the pool. Hold your breath everyone, this race was a wild ride!

Cass stood poised in position and as soon as the horn sounded, she produced a wonderful dive, throwing herself forward as far as her long limbs could achieve. It was a tough battle that both Sheares and Temasek halls had given us but Cass focused on coordinating her arm movements and leg kicks, never giving in to the pressure. She clocked in at a timing of 48 seconds, handing the race over to Kristie. Well done Cass!

Kristie took over by starting her swim with a graceful dive into the water, creating almost a perfect arc. She beats down on her opponents, chasing them down like a cat would chase a mouse. Her efforts were surely paying off, for she had managed to overtake and shake off the swimmer from Sheares Hall at the halfway mark. Way to go, Kristie! She was also featured in Eusoff’s Senior Series previously and we all know how much she and the rest of the team trained hard to be where they were. Kristie ended her swim with a timing of 44 seconds. What a great swim!

We were halfway through the race with Eusoff currently in second place. It was up to Branda to take the lead and narrow the gap between herself and the swimmer from Temasek! Her consistent and rhythmical strokes allowed her to quickly reduce the distance between Temasek by the 25 metre mark, which was halfway till the end of her swim. Within slightly after three quarters of the pool, Branda was neck and neck with Temasek Hall! As she was reaching the end of her race, she went for another kick and there she was, ahead of Temasek! An amazing overtake demonstrated by Branda! She had given us an incredible performance, achieving a timing of 45 seconds.

Female captain Shannon was up last to bring the whole team to victory! She was completely at ease before the race and her confidence and resolution could be seen from the way she swam without hesitation. From her beautiful dive to powerful arm pulls to draw herself forward, it immediately set our hearts at peace knowing that we could depend on her to win us the race. 25 metres before the end, Shannon was already at least a body length away from her fellow opponent. Speedy Shannon easily took the win for Eusoff, clocking in at a superb 40 seconds!

We thank the team for their hard work and efforts to bring victory to Eusoff! Special shoutout to Kee Juan for hollering “GO!” and shouting encouragement to the team the entire way until his voice broke. Lung capacity at its finest! Rest up for tonight and getting ready for Swim is about to wreck the next few races the next weekend! Well done to everyone!
