It is the second showing for our Squash boys coming off a red hot start from their previous match defeating KE in a 5-0 victory. They are looking to repeat their success and I am confident they can reproduce similar results. Next up to challenge them is Sheares Hall and the atmosphere is simply electrifying! LEZGO EUSOFF!

First up is our superstar JiaShen! He looked calm and composed entering the game and honestly why wouldn’t he be. The match started and in a blink of an eye he was suddenly up 5-0. Felt like a breeze for him as he placed cheeky drop shots and made his opponent run around the entire court just trying to return his shots! Just another day for him as the only points he gave up were unforced errors on his own part. He won his match in straight sets 11-2 11-2 11-1. He finished his match and looked like he just came back from an evening stroll. Insane stuff from him!

Jia Shen with a good win for his team to draw first blood in this duel.

EH 1 : 0 SH

More of the same from our other superstar Brandon! Some tilt moments could be seen when the refs gave weird calls and lets that seemed rather unfair. But he kept his cool and kept playing his game. His shots are incredibly close to the walls and it forced his opponent to hit the tin so many times to earn easy points. He seemed to be in control of the match from start to finish and lowkey left his opponent tilted at the same time. The match ended in straight sets as well and Brandon takes the 3-0 victory for EH.

EH 2 : 0 SH

Up next is the much anticipated match-up between Elvis and his former teammate. The initial rallies of the match were long and intense. Neither side seemed to let up. The points swung by the narrowest of margins and it was neck and neck. Some slight mistakes by Elvis led to the first set going to SH. The crowd cheered as we tried to help him regain his composure and just focus on the next set. It was a mental game and the next few sets were just unlucky as Elvis slipped a few times and the ball barely hit out. His opponent just seemed more confident and played with a little more composure. Even though the score was a 3-0 loss, it did not truly reflect how close the match was. Kudos to Elvis for playing his heart out!

Freshie Elvis put up a strong fight against his formidable opponent.

EH 2 : 1 SH

Sean is next to play and he seems to be warmed up and ready. He starts off strong but a few iffy calls led him to tilt really early on in the set. Some balls that seemed to be in were called out and some obstruction calls were given that really frustrated him but he tried his best to keep calm and play his own game. He played hard and it looked like he had just ran a marathon towards the end of his first set! The set went on for so long and the score just kept inching its way up. It finally ended with SH taking the first set 17-15 and both players looked absolutely gassed. The next 2 sets were absolutely brutal and Sean tried his best to keep it close. It seemed almost impossible but Sean drenched his first jersey in sweat, then changed into a new one only to drench it in sweat again by the end of his second set. Man is working hard out there and the sweat is dripping everywhere. Towards the end, he looked absolutely drained but he never gave up! Big props to Sean, tough loss as he played hard all the way till the end.

EH 2 : 3 SH

Last to play was Jerry and the pressure on him was suffocating as he played in the match deciding game. The crowd tried their absolute best to cheer him on as he was in yet another close game. It came down to the wire in almost every set and it was really unfortunate balls that hit the tin which cost us point after point, set after set. Being down a set, he seemed focused to win that set back and he fought hard in that second set. Some slips and near-misses were really costly down the stretch and the match finally ended in favour of SH. Good effort by Jerry as he tried his absolute best to stage a comeback but fell just short.
