Our squash boys are ready to face off against KR for their much awaited semi-final match! Boys are warm and ready looking to make up for their unfortunate loss against SH. Line ups are set and in order we have Brandon, Elvis, Jia Shen, Sean and Kenson!
First up we have ALL-STAR Brandon ready to start the match right with a convincing W. No time to waste and smashes a hard one into the corner. His opponent immediately feels the pressure as he continues his onslaught of smashes into obscure corners that are almost impossible to return. Casual win for Brandon as he just places the ball into the corner for a clinical drop shot and wins it 11-1. More of the same and he picks up right where he left off. His opponent is simply unable to match his speed and return his balls and suddenly he walks off the court again after another 11-1 set. He decides it’s time to end this chopchop and TOTOMEDAH his opponent with another 11-1 set. Not bad as he finishes in record time with a 3-0 victory. Just another day at the office for our superstar !!
EH 1:0 KR
Playing at the same time is Elvis and he is set to dominate! He must have learnt from Brandon as he starts off with a well placed shot into the bottom corner that left his opponent stunned for a hot minute. Riding on his momentum he continues to rack up points and finds himself with a huge comfortable lead! Final nail in the coffin for KR as a speedy ball catches them off guard and the opponent tries to destroy the lights with the ball!11-5 and Elvis draws first blood. Back in and Elvis ain’t wasting no time manhandling his opponent. In full control as he is playing all the angles of the court. Man out here playing 5D chess with angles I have never seen before and I don’t blame KR for not being able to keep up. A few slip ups but nothing too serious and he takes the second set 11-6. Final set and Elvis lost focus for a few rallies. After calming himself down he just takes over yet again and stretches his lead and finishes in style 11-8 for 3-0 win GOODJOB ELVIS 🙂
Our boys having a quick huddle before the third, and possibly deciding, match of the night.
EH 2:0 KR
Now time for the much awaited match featuring our ace superstar JdRAGON aka JgOD aka our ace player JIASHEN! He is set to face their best player who is so huge he looks like he lives in the gym and spends all day pumping iron to get MASSIVE. Pretty sure he is twice the size of our JdRAGON and I’m actually pretty worried he might just tilt and break JiaShen in half! The game starts and JiaShen is unrelenting in his attacks forcing his opponent to hit the tin. His opponent turns out to actually to be insanely good as well probably spending half his time in the gym and the other half in the squash courts! “JIASHEN IS A BEAST!!!” -superstar weytin. IF IDOL WEYTIN SAYS SO MEANS MUST BE TRUE! jLEGEND tries to keep up but finds himself down 7-10 at game point. NEVER GIVE UP and our hero JdRAGON pulls out the upset and actually wins 12-10 like what even the entire crowd was stunned. Second set starts and it is neck and neck once again. Cool as a cucumber, he dumps one right into the bottom corner that the opponent has no chance of returning AND HE DOES IT WITH SUCH FLAIR! JgOD continues to press on but it levels once again at 6-6. A lapse of concentration and the momentum shifts to the opposition’s favour and he loses 11-7. Jbeast back in and he seems to be in much better shape than his panting opponent. He keeps up the pressure not giving his opponent any break. In an attempt to get some rest there is a call for a floor wipe but 10/10 MVP Sean recognises this and sprints to wipe the floor and resume the game ASAP. It worked and Jboogie takes it 11-9. Last set and his opponent is clearly shag and tilted. More floorwipes and complaints to the umpire later. He is level with his opponent at a 10-10 deuce. Tensions flare as both sides don’t get the calls they thought they should get. Ice in his veins, JHERO clutches out the win in 15-13. JBEAST!!! 3-1 victory and EH WINS 3-0! We are into the FINALSSSS!!
EH 3:0 KR
Next up we got our MVP floorwiper Sean and he is totally over the moon about our first 3 victories. As if all the pressure was lifted off his shoulder(maybe it was never there). He starts off rough as he makes many rare mistakes that are very unlike him! Probably rust or just not in the right mindset as he just goes through the motion and doesn’t quite look like himself on court he drops the first set 11-5. MUST BE TIRED FROM THE FLOOR CLEANING.. BUT THAT FLOOR CLEANING WAS THE MOST VALUABLE CONTRIBUTION! He starts his second set looking to redeem himself! Only to hit the tin. And again. Is there a magnet in the tin Sean?!?!?!! He seems a little frustrated at himself and his poor play but allsgood just play your game! He tries his best but drops the second set 11-7. Last set and he seems to be going on autopilot. Flashes of brilliance were seen but more hitting the ball into the tin as well.. Definitely feeling off today as he drops his final set 11-2. It’s ok just gotta learn from your mistakes !!
EH 3:1 KR
At the same time we have our handball captain warming up and ready to play our last match! Kenson goes off to a red hot start and finds himself an almost insurmountable lead of 8-0 in the blink of an eye. Really giving no chance as he just outplays his opponent with finesse and takes the first game 11-2 no sweat. Kenson enters for the second set and once again he is dominating! A few slip ups along the way gives his opponent a chance to close the gap but then consecutive mistakes from his opponent gives him the 11-7 victory. Good pressure from Kenson as he is steadily keeping up the pressure to force these mistakes. Last set and he has a slow start only finding himself on the scoreboard down 1-3. Never giving up he retakes the lead although it is barely a lead. His drop shots are exceptionally deadly as his opponent gets sent sliding all over the court. Tight game once again and it is a 10-10 deuce. Nothing to fear as clutch is in his genes and he edges out the 12-10 victory. 3-0 for Kenson and 4-1 to EH.
Even though the win was already secured, Kenson still gave his all and ended the night on a high note.
Final score: EH 4:1 KR
CONGRATULATIONS BOYS ON MAKING THE FINALS! Rest up and get ready for the finals! All the best and we look forward to supporting y’all in the upcoming finals matches!
