It is finally time for our squash boys to give it all they’ve got in the finals against our arch rivals/friendly neighbours TH! Some match delays and the timings got pushed back but our boys are still sharp and ready! Will supper stretch remain yellow? Only time will tell and it’s all in the hands of our talented boys!
First up we have my boy jDRAGON set to face off against his fellow IVP adversary. Game starts and it is already so intense. Fighting hard for every single advantage and point. It is level and both sides fight tooth and nail to try and keep up. A beautifully placed drop shot earns him a small lead but his opponent pressures him very well. A super tyco shot led to it being level at 9-9. Jiashen tries to take it with a cheeky smash to catch his opponent off guard but it unfortunately hits the tin and he drops it 9-11. Next set and it is exactly the same. Neither side is willing to give an inch. He finds himself trailing for most of the set but sees an opportunity to climb back. A misjudge by jBOOGIE as he gets baited into playing a drop shot and gets punished for it. Second set lost 11-9 as well. Third set and no signs of tilt by my boy jHERO. He calmly plays his game and makes a few good plays. His opponent manages to force him to hit the tin and the momentum shifts. It leveled at 10-10 deuce and Jiashen looks ready to clutch it out one more time! Unfortunately his last 2 shots barely hit the tin and he lost 12-10. Good effort Jiashen playing such a skillful opponent!
EH 0:1 TH
Next for some revenge is BIGBOYBRANDON! He looks massive and ready to impose his will on his poor opponent. Not gonna lie his opponent looks really scared of him like he’s gonna eat him once he closes the court door. Donning the BRIGHT PINK SHORTS, my boy is lookin to distract his opponent with some of that blinding apparel I see. Appears to have worked as his opponent just cannot return his serves and smashes. Blink of an eye and he is suddenly up 7-0. A small mistake along the way but nothing major and he takes the first one 11-1. Second game starts and he is really not giving any chance. Straight up domination 11-0 what a monster. Last game and you can see his ‘guailan smile’ come out as he looks like he’s just out to finish his warm up. Literally no sweat as he takes the last set 11-2 and wins the match in an ezpz 3-0.
EH 1:1 TH
Next up we got Elvis warming up ready to play against one of their ACE PLAYERS or so they say. Game starts and it appears the claims are true and Elvis finds himself down 0-6 early. He finally finds himself on the scoreboard at 1-6 with a sick shot to the far corner! His opponent is not slowing down and makes use of all 3 walls to confuse Elvis. Really tough to focus and predict where the ball is gonna land so kudos to Elvis for trying his best! Eventually he goes on to drop the set 2-11. Second set starts and Elvis seems to be shagged out already! After a few long rallies he finally smashes one right above the tin and levels at 3-3. It is a tough grind and he levels again at 7-7 but his opponent powers through to take the set 7-11. Man is tired from running all over the court with these crazy long rallies, bending over and panting. Last set and the fatigue definitely shows. He hits out and smashes into the tin more than usual and drops the last set 2-11. Good effort Elvis! Salute for never giving up!
EH 1:2 TH
Finally in the most crucial match of the finals we have Sean doobert! This time he finally remembers to bring his matric card and we can all heave a sigh of relief. Match starts and Sean looks really nervous, making some stupid mistakes along the way. Really doesn’t look like himself and even his girlfriend is angry from outside. “JUST PLAY YOUR GAME” He wakes up from his dream a little too late and drops the set 8-11 after hitting the tin for consecutive rallies. After getting his pre-game jitters out of the way, he comes into the second set looking like a completely different player. His drop shots are on point and he is constantly pressuring his opponent. His opponent tilts a little, allowing Sean to capitalise and win the second set 11-8. Third set in and his confidence is sky-high. Just what we need as he seems to be in full control of the game making his opponent sprint from end to end of the court. He goes on to win the third set as well. Fourth set starts and Sean just pounces on the chance to finish the game fast and he does so in style 11-7 and he wins it 3-1! Really clutch gene is in him as we wins the deciding match for us and up next is Kenson left to clean up the rest!
EH 2:2 TH
Last match standing in between the boys and their gold medal is gonna be played by Handball captain Kenson! He is able to outpace and outplay his opponent who seems to be rather inexperienced as compared to Kenson! All in a days work and he takes the set with ease 11-5.
With the match on the line, Kenson was absolutely clutch and went toe-to-toe with his opponent.
Second game and Kenson senses blood. He is all out on the offensive but makes a few mistakes being too eager to makan his poor opponent. Nothing out of the ordinary as his opponent gets overwhelmed by all his smashes and drop shots. Second set was claimed by Kenson without hesitation. FINAL SET. He starts strong and pushes the lead early. Only thing stopping him from dispatching his opponent is himself! After a few mistakes, he finally seals the deal with a sweet forehand to the far corner. HE’S DONE IT!

WE DID IT!! With the final win we are champions for squash and I couldn’t be more proud of our boys for coming this far! All your hard work and efforts finally paid off! Thanks to everybody who supported them thus far! Congratz on the gold boyz!
