After going through the preliminaries undefeated, our squash girls are finally facing Raffles in the semi-finals where only one team can grab a spot in the finals. Even though it was a crucial game for our supergirls, they were all fired up by the challenge and all had determined looks in their eyes, ready for the kill.
Rika started off the game with amazing serves as usual, unleashing her full strength right from the start, holding nothing back at all. Her opponent was completely helpless, trying to receive her serves yet they were just too fast and too hard it was impossible to even see the ball. By the time her opponent reacted, the ball was already long gone. God Rika was just too overwhelming and too powerful. She had an insane amount of control over all her smashes, drives and serves, and she was dishing them out at lightning speed! Rika then completely swept all 3 sets easily, leaving her opponent completely drained and exhausted after having faced the wrath of her prowess. Once again, Rika got the first win for Eusoff with sikkkk match scores of 11-0, 11-0 and 11-4.
Rika smoothly delivered the ball back. How zen too!
Up next, is RAHRAH time!!! Farah was matched up against a tough opponent who was evenly matched. It was an extremely tough fight and in the first set, even though Farah was down, she never faltered and still managed to outplay her opponent by aiming her smashes to the far corners. However, her opponent was pretty skillful herself too and managed to take the first and second set, 11-8 and 11-3 respectively, despite Farah’s relentless attempts to close the gap. In the third set, Farah fought extremely hard, refusing to let her opponent sweep 3 sets in a row. Even though it was evident that Farah was getting tired, she never slacked off once and was attacking her opponent hard with all her might. Farah finally managed to break away from her opponent who was constantly breathing down her neck, and took the third game 11-9 which gave her a chance to comeback in the 4th set. Unfortunately, the RH player was just too skillful and cunning. She managed to outwit Farah a couple of times despite the terrific fight put up by Farah, she fell short and Raffles took the last set 11-7. As a result, Eusoff and Raffles were tied at 1-1.
Farah never fails to make her fans and supporters go RAHRAH with her superb form!
Following this, Sarah was the next matchup against Raffles. Just like the past few games, Sarah went crazy with her smashes and serves. However, this time, her opponent was more skillful and managed to receive some of them resulting in a close score of 6-4 to Eusoff at the start. Soon after, the opponent got exhausted and could barely keep up with Sarah’s strength and speed and she eventually took the set 11-6. For the second set, Raffles had some tricks up her sleeve as well and the opponent managed to grab a 5-1 lead at the start. Despite this gap, Sarah was unshaken. She kept a cool head and steadily fought back slowly but surely, with her strong serves and cross-court drives. It was an extremely tight match as the score was now 12-11 with Sarah in the lead. With her hulk-like strength, speed and wit, Sarah managed to steal the last point and take the second set 13-11!! WHAT A CLUTCH PLAY!!! After this set, her opponent was completely drained and gone while Sarah was still bursting with energy which led her to take the final set easily 11-2. With that hard-fought and clutch win by Sarah, Eusoff is now up 2-1 against Raffles!
After the super intense play by Sarah that left everyone stunned and sweaty from the heat of the game, it was finally showdown time for tennis captain Felicia, aka Fish! Fish started out really strong, taking the first lead of the game 3-0. However, her opponent was pretty smart herself and staged a comeback, which resulted in Raffles taking the set 11-7. Despite losing the first set, Fish was still exuding so much confidence on the court and was all ready to crush her opponent in the next few sets. Fish quickly adapted to her opponent’s style of play and she probably studied her opponent well in the first set which led her to go on a 5-0 run with intelligent ball-placements and trickery. Her opponent then broke the run by scoring 2 shots herself but this was not enough to stop THE FISH. Fish easily picked herself up and took the set 11-3, completely crushing her opponent’s confidence. Fish swept the next 2 sets as well even though her opponent put up a tough fight, it was not enough to stop Fish’s crazy runs. With her experience and composure, Fish emerged victorious and took the third win for Eusoff!!!
Last but not least, we have Captain Fongling in action! Fongling, as usual, never disappoints! She was just insanely good with her serves and plays. It’s crazy how she never fails to make her opponent sprint like mad in all directions to get her ball but is never able to get close to it. Watching Fongling play was like watching a magic show where she continuously whip up spectacular shots and plays to fool her opponent. Fongling would always strike her strongest smash right at the corners after making her opponent run a few rounds. WHAT AMAZING AND JAW-DROPPING SKILLS!! Although her opponent managed to get a few lucky unexpected shots, Fongling still swept all 3 sets 11-1, 11-3 and 11-7. With this victory, Eusoff is in to the finals, beating Raffles 4-1!
What a game by our girls!! No matter who they face, our girls are always playing all out and always standing strong and united together. Keep it up girls! Rest well and all the best for finals!!
