After an incredible miracle comeback by our MVP LingYan in the semi-finals, our squash girls look inspired and hope to ride the momentum coming into the all important finals! Having faced RH in the group stage and lost by a small margin, the girls ready to seek revenge! Let’s go for GOLD EUSOFF!!
The first in our lineup is none other than our raidboss FONGLING! Match starts and she is on the offensive from the get-go! Many costly mistakes along the way but many were forced by her opponent’s vicious forehands. She tries her best to level but eventually loses the first set. Second set starts and she pulls off a sick drop shot that left everybody stunned. Her opponent wasn’t fazed though as she continues to pile on the pressure. She is trailing early on in the set but manages to cut the lead down to just 2 points! Unfortunately, A few tough returns that hit the tin led to her losing her second set. Third set and Fong is desperate to fight back. She does not give her opponent anymore chance and fights with everything she’s got! Momentum is in her favour and she wins it 11-5!!! Fourth set and both sides look pretty tired already. Both players make errors on their own part but RH just happens to make less of these errors and Fong drops her set and loses in a 1-3 match.
EH 0:1 RH
Up next is Weytin who is set to face off against their strongest player! Don’t be intimidated and just play your game! Her opponent pressures her from the start with some tough serves and drop shots that Weytin just barely misses the return. Valiant effort as she continues to play her game and try her best as she drops the first set 3-11. All smiles though as she enters for her second set. The difference in game experience is very apparent and she drops the second set as well. Third set in what could be last set last chance. She fights with all her might but the mistakes towards the end prove to be very costly and she loses the match in straight sets.
EH 0:2 RH
We are put into a tough spot being down 0:2. However, 2 of their best players have already played and now we have Elicia ready for some sweet sweet revenge. She starts with a service ace and there were many more where that game from as her opponent seems to be very unsure of what’s going on. Slow and steady, she takes the first set ezpz. Second set and she really ain’t messing around. Simply unable to return the serves Elicia effectively 11-0 her opponent IN THE FINALS?! LEGENDARY SIA! Last set and Elicia just wants to end it ASAP. She finally wins the last set and that puts us up on the overall scoreboard 1:2.

Next we got Farah who seems ready to finish her match early as well! Her opponent is yet another inexperienced player and Farah looks ready to makan her. Game on and her serves are met with no answer from her opponent. Finally we get a decent rally but Farah with a pretty drop shot seals the first set for us. Second set starts and nothing is going to phase her. Absolute concentration as she continues to dominate her poor opponent. A hard forehand to the corner and she wins it 11-2. Last set and nothing different, she overwhelms her opponent and take the quick victory in straight sets! GOODJOB FARAH!
EH 2:2 RH
Last but not least we have our MVP LingYan in hopes that she can recreate her semi-final miracle! She starts strong and her opponent is feeling nervous and having trouble returning her serves! Good for us as we are simply able to go up to 5-0 just by serving alone.A few solid rallies in and LingYan decides to smash the ball right above the tin and finish the set with an incredible drop shot to take the set 11-5. Second set and she is feeling herself! She earns herself 6 consecutive service aces and basically starts the second set 6-0 up. Continuing the pressure, she eventually wins the second set 11-2. Third set underway and her opponent is not giving up. She seems to have found her rhythm and is fighting back with all she has. LingYan trails and eventually the momentum shift coupled with unforced errors from her own part led to her dropping both the third and fourth set. Final set to decide it all and LingYan is under immense pressure to perform. She finds herself down 4 points early and tries her best to claw her way back into a deuce but she makes one too many errors and drops the fifth and final set. GOOD EFFORT FOR TRYING YOUR BEST FOR ALL 5 SETS LINGYAN WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!!

Tough loss at the end but the girls played their hearts out and left the courts with no regrets! Good job on coming this far in your IHG season girls we are all so proud of your achievements! CONGRATZ ON THE 1ST RUNNER UP GIRLS! Finally, a big thank you to all the supporters who have supported the girls during the season!
