The Takraw Temans step up on the court for what they knew would be a gruelling series of games against their opponents in the semis, Kent Ridge Hall.

The first Regu featured superstars Reformed Dragonslayer Gaele_l, Mr. Olympia 2020 Eun Seong and Ex-Captain now Kompang Player Irfan. They led with a solid first kill by Gaele, followed by a phenomenal block by Irfan to keep the KR players at bay. Gaele then goes for the kill, and “purposely” blocks the opponent’s kill instead! But a few solid rallies by both sides helps KR bring it back to 4-all. Though the KR players take a small lead, Gaele shows off his fresh cut once again, coming in with two heads and an absolutely sick bicycle kick to bring back the lead at 10-8.

Freshie superstar Gaele smashes one into his opponent’s court.

Though they fought hard, a sudden momentum swing comes in for KR and they somehow take the first set 15-12. The second set starts with a KR lead and too many tough rallies that put them up 7-1. Team captain Fadi calls an amazingly placed time out, and after KR scores another point, the boys get seven more straight to get it back to 8-8! KR calls a timeout too and somehow gets another momentum swing to 13-12, but a superb head fake by Gaele ties it to 13-all. Unfortunately two tough points get in from KR and they lose the second set 15-13. The third set starts off rough and KR are quick to take a 3-point lead. Eun Seong fights hard with a few good serves to bring them up to 6 points, but KR comes back to 13 points against our 9. One kill straight to a KR player’s groin later, the Takraw boys bring it to 11 points. But KR rallies hard to take match point. Kr takes the Regu after a tough fight and a few close matches.

First Regu: 3-0 to KR

The second Regu, featuring BIG BOYE WenHao, Kasting Kawch Chun and Faedi starts off rough with two serves into the net by WenHao. But the big boi makes some big boi adjustments in his serve to get his service on form, cutting down the KR lead. A solid block by skinny daddy Faddy also helps to bring them even, but a few tough rallies brings KR to get set point.

Captain Fadi, the man with many names, was on fire during this semis.

Set 2 starts strong for EH as Chun finally has his ban kai moment and puts up a beautiful touch for Fadi to hammer straight into next week!!! Couch then makes two sweet saves that sounded rather pain for his ankles, but brings EH to a 3-1 lead !!! Fadi with the sick finesse taps the ball barely over the line and god decides to balance out the luck by making WenHao slip all over the floor. DU haven’t start audition bro can chill out. THE NEXT 3 POINTS THEN FORCES FADI TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL CAUSE MAN IS SICKKKKKKKKKKK!!! He puts up a header, followed by a kill, followed by a block to force KR into a timeout. Someone needs to get a stat board here to track that triple double honestly. Bigger Boye Marcus Tan sends in some Chakra from overseas to help EH take the set at 15-11 to EH! Set 3 starts with WenHao dishing out sauce to everyone on court, forcing KR players to buckle at 2-0. Though KR rallies to 2-all, EH shows who’s superior at kicking balls and easily pulls it to 7-3! Fadi then gets 3 kills straight and couch puts the KR players into a spin cycle to get match point for set 3! KR makes a substitute to put in their softball pitcher, but he forgets what sport he’s playing and serves an easy one to Fadi for the straight kill to open up the game! Faedi then pulls off a sick block to deny KR their first Kill and brings the score up to 3-0!

The Takraw boys’ loyal supporters going absolutely wild after a thrilling point!

A controversial call by the umpire swings the momentum to KR, and somehow they take a 9-4 lead after a few tough serves by WenHao. Ex Captain Fandi Ahmad calls a timeout and WHAT A WELL PLACED timeout because the boys pull up with 3 points to put it at 11-7 to KR. Chun then places a sick set with his thigh that Fadi DESTROYS to bring it to 11-9. WenHao sets the ball nicely for Fadi to pull off some STREET FIGHTER BACK UPSIDE DOWN HEADER and the score is 12-11 to KR! Quaking in their boots, KR calls a timeout, but it doesn’t work as Eh takes the score to 14 all. Kr takes a quick point but then chokes and serves it straight into the net to tie the game! EH takes a quick point back and silence fills the court as FIERY DADDEY FAEDI RISES UP TO YEET THAT STUFF OUT OF HIS SIDE! NOT IN HIS COURT BOYESSSSSSSSSSSSSS. EH takes the set 17-15 and takes the Regu!

Second Regu: 3-1 to EH!!!

The third Regu starts off with “reformed clown” Amos, “Reformed sleeper” Nic and “Reformed head only” Ethan. KR, maybe distracted by their own loud drums, tries to kick off their drummer’s head to start the game, giving Eh the first lead. Sports D Amos then puts up a killer serve but it gets returned into the Eh court- 1 all. Amos’ strong legs then put him at a disadvantage as he serves the balls all the way to the science field, and a tough few takes by Eh puts them down by 6. Reformed clown then puts up a MONSTER serve to swing the momentum back in our favour, with Nic putting up 2 quick kills to bring the score to 8-4 to KR. A tough few serves by Amos then go out of court, and KR kills wet into N^2 to take the first set. The second set starts with a classy serve by Amos that SPLITS HIS OPPONENT’S LEGS IN HALF LIKE CHICKEN ON A BARBECUE, giving us first blood once again. N^2 then sets the ball abit too high for JOELEJT who tries to use his legs for the first time in the set, but barely misses and KR take a 11-5 lead. KR serves the ball hard and Nic has a good take, but an unfortunate miscommunication between Amos and Joel allows the ball to go out of bounds. Match point to KR, 15-5. Captain “Reformed VS student” makes some tactical substitutions, allowing Hong “Reformed rapper” Sheng and Wei “Reformed goalkeeper” to take the court. HongSheng has a solid first take, but Joel sets the ball abit too far for even WeiShine’s lanky legs and KR takes the first point of the set.

They follow it up with two good kills to put them up 6-1. However, the combined power of Reformation allows the guys to reform from choking, getting 3 straight as HongSheng kills the ball straight off a serve, putting the score at 6-5 to KR. KR comes back with two good kills, refusing to die, and HongSheng has two rough takes that cause the ball to fly like the golden snitch. KR take the lead 13-6, and decide to play soccer, putting the ball in the net twice, but WeiShineKoh HATES LOSING and goes for the stunning header barely on the line, scoring another point. Unfortunately, KR gets one final kill in, taking the set 15-7.

Third Regu: 3-0 to KR

Final score: EH 0:3 KR

The Takraw Temans put up a strong fight against all their opponents this IHG season, and would like to thank all their supporters for coming down and watching them ( and I would like to thank all of you for following the live feed!) Though their season may end here, their brotherhood doesn’t and they’ll come back stronger next year! Captain Fadi played exceptionally well during this KR matchup, scoring many clutch headers and 5 blocks to win them the Regu. When asked for any final words, the ever so charming, charismatic and CBlock man simply says “ This team damn werl, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thanks for the season boys!” Head over to EusoffWorks’ Facebook page for more photos!
