Our netball girls took the court the first time this season, nerves tingling as they were unsure of the extent to which they were prepared for the game. However, they put those nerves aside with one final “EUSOFF!” cheer, immediately filling the area with their presence. Though the first ball went to RH, little did they know that the Eusoff girls didn’t need the ball- they’d come with swords and shields and were ready for a massacre.
The first quarter starts with an all-star invite lineup of Caitlin in GS, Shi Yi in GA, Jane in WA, Sonia in the centre, Natalie on WD, Michelle in GD and Sherlyn as keeper. The girls were on fire straight from the start as Shi Yi manages two quick points, and Michelle hustles to save the ball on a bad pass. However, an unfortunate pause has to be taken as an RH player appears to have injured themselves. Whoever you are, injury is tough, so get well soon! The girls then fall into a slump, with a few bad passes. But Captain Caitlin steps in, somehow having not rolled her ankles yet, saving a few bad passes and converting them, putting EH up 4-0.Shi Yi was also one of the players on ABSOLUTE FIRE today, refusing to ever miss as she puts up a career high 6 goals for the first quarter! They continue to storm the front, as Michelle holds the back end, keeping our sheet clean for a solid 12-0 run to EH!

First quarter 12-0 to EH
The second quarter starts with a quick possession by RH, but GD Sherlyn refuses to let any balls in on her watch, towering over her opponent to pressure them into a bad shot, resulting in their ball behind shot wayyyyyy away from the rim! She then converts the throw in straight to Sonia who dishes out the smooth dime to Caitlin for our first point of the quarter! Cait, needing to prove she can assist even better than she can score, starts morphing into an assist machine, finding Shi Yi for the quick 3 points, pushing us to 16-0 up!!! On the defensive side, Michelle’s insane hustle, probably one she learnt from all the years of being a farming farmer, disallows a single ball from reaching the opponent GS this whole quarter! The ball barely makes it past her, but she collects herself and SWIPES away to turn it over to EH! Truly an amazing show tis quarter! The team then puts together one last offense, easily getting it to ShiYi for the point.
Second quarter 21-0 to EH
The third quarter sees some lineup changes, subbing in GA Valerie Shao, WA Jess, Centre Laura, WD Jodie as well as GS “scoring Machine “ Pat. the third quarter immediately begins with some solid hustle off of a bad RH pass, and Jodie’s tight defence soon turns the ball over back to us. Pat and Laura then show off some excellent passing before Pat gives us a taste of her absolutely astounding sniper skills, easily scoring one from the edge of the line. I’ve watched a lot of netball in my day and let me tell you – weeeeeew that was a clean shot. Pat then goes on to put up another two easy shots for her, bringing the score to 24-0!!

The match continues as Laura makes a rough pass to Pat, but Valerie Shao brought the absolute heat to the match today, pulling out a diving save for the first time today to get the ball to Pat, who scores another sniped shot. Shao also misses a shot but FLIES UP HIGH for the rebound, POSTERIZING HER OPPONENT and getting the rebound, putting it back into the net to avenge herself. Jess then jukes her opponent out, putting her on skates and ending that woman’s career, handing the ball back to Pat who, once again, PUTS IT IN FROM THE EDGE OF THE SEMI CIRCLE alsfhoshfgsfhshf ANOTHER INCREDIBLE SHOT!!! She brings the quarter to 30-0 as we enter the fourth.
Third quarter 31-0 to EH
The quarter starts with a solid shot in by Pat, followed by Valierie’s now signature diving save of the ball! Jodie then decides 6 V 5 is way too easy and gets herself thrown out of the game! RH pulls a quick one-two but Nat’s solid one man defence keeps their shots at bay from bad angle! The girls make several more amazing playings ( come down to see for yourselves!) and eventually take the game, a smooth 40-0 scoreline to them.
Final score: EH 40-0 RH
Good job today girls! Each and every one of you balled your heart out and it was evident in all your actions, from defence to offence, and they deserved that landslide win!
