Today our girls continue their journey up the gauntlet, meeting KR in the semi-finals. Winning this match would guarantee them a 2nd placing in IHG, but let’s be real, we all know they are not aiming for that, and they are better than that. Seeing that they had already won RH by a mile without their superstar captain Rebecca, having her in their line-up today would assure victory against their tougher opponents from KR. Let’s get into the lines!

First line: Reese Carris Joie Jermaine

The match started with Joie running circles around KR’s defense, delivering the ball to Carris, who converts it to a point. Reese then takes a long shot and gets it in, starting off the match with a 3-0 lead. The girls then proceed to pull further ahead, getting off to a strong start with a 9-1 lead against KR. In the 2nd half, KR started showing signs of life by closing the gap to 10-4. However, as fatigue set in they could not keep up with our passes as Joie and Reese managed to systematically deliver the ball to star-shooter Carris, who brought the score to a final tally of 18-6.

Jermaine somehow looks like she still playing bball..

Second line: Michelle Zhi Qi Chloe Phoebe

In the 2nd line KR unexpectedly strikes first, scoring the first goal. KR manages to defend their lead for a while but Zhi Qi and Michelle finally broke it down with some passes and consecutive shots. The match continues with it being toe to toe, but eventually with some clean shots by Chloe and flying catches by phoebe, the girls take the match 11-4.

team cheer right in front of KR to show them whos the beast.

Third line: Rebecca Ying Jia Shyun Han Xi

This may be our most stacked line yet with superstar Rebecca, star shooter Ying Jia and the small but speedy duo Han Xi and Shyun. The game starts with a few long passes between Ying Jia and Rebecca, where Rebecca does an insane fake shot and passes to Ying Jia who scores. KR is not ready for this skill and height gap, as they succumb to an early 4-0 lead. KR tries desperately to counterattack, but Ying Jia shows up and punches away all their passes. Han xi and Shyun do a good job controlling in the 2nd half, allowing Ying Jia and Rebecca to farm points till an eventual 17-2 scoreline.

KR takes a break as she knows she cant defend Rebecca....

With this win, the netball team advances to the Finals. Arriving at the final step of their journey with ease, the girls showed no signs of faltering as they achieved a clean victory against KR. Stay tuned to @eh_netball Livestream and @ihgnetball for live updates next Tuesday where they would be likely facing TH!

Overall score: EH 46-12 KR
