It was a slow Sunday morning. As I arrived at the USC Sports Hall, I was greeted by the smiling, confident faces of our Eusoff netballers. I asked Chloe : “Are y’all gonna win?” to which she replied : “Well, we have to”. Nothing could prepare me for the intense game that was soon to follow.

The first whistle was blown promptly at 10am and within seconds, Eusoff took control of the game, gaining possession and scoring the first goal of the game. Their swift passes and nimble maneuvers made quick work of KE’s defense, netting us a healthy 5-0 lead within the first 2 minutes of the game. Eusoff kept on the pressure, not giving KE any room to breathe, locking down their offense and putting up solid defense.

Both Rishika and Ying Jia were putting in WORK to shut down KE, leaping and using their long arms in a good show of defense. Thanks to them, Eusoff regained possession multiple times, leaving KE with little to no ball possession throughout the first quarter. The domination continued, with Carris scoring a whopping 18 out of the 19 goals in the first quarter.

Jumping sky high and out of KE's reach for the ball!

As the whistle for the first quarter went off, the queens in yellow were seen huddling together, composed but full of energy. Netball captain, Reese, was giving advice and strategies to her team based on what she observed, which i'm sure has had a part to play in the even stronger performance put up by Eusoff in the next quarters. Chloe was seen working on her shots during the down time ((QUEEN)).

Second quarter began and the, what I’d describe as a massacre, continued. In the first few minutes, KE had a strong showing, fighting back and defending well against the girls in yellow. However, I think our netballers picked up on this and stepped on the pedal even harder, upping their antes even MORE, fighting back even harder and even more relentlessly. The plays went by so quickly I barely had time to keep up with what was going on. Denise and Natasha both put up a strong show, scoring ball after ball, bringing EH up to a staggering 27-0.

One of the many shots that could not be blocked!

Seemingly unfazed by the massive score difference, it was definitely a commendable effort by KE, having answers for EH relentless attacks and even making plays on their own, scoring their first goal in the 2nd quarter. By the end of the 2nd quarter, the score was a gaping 31-1 to Eusoff.

Eusoff’s one sided domination carried into the 3rd and 4th quarters, closing the game with a WHOPPING 54-2 victory over KE. The girls were seen smiling and congratulating each other for their efforts and looked like they had lots of fun. They ended the game off with friendly handshakes with KE players before taking a break to enjoy their ice cold H2Os provided by their lovely TM Alvin!

With their next game on 12th Jan, let's give our netballers some time to rest and I’m sure they will bring the same vigour and energy to their next match! LFG!!!
