Today the Netball girls continued their IHG journey with their second match of the season against RH. While the girls were warming up, Eusoffians slowly streamed in, forming the usual sea of yellow supporters. The Netball girls portrayed utmost confidence and looked all set to win their second game. First Quarter 8-2 to EH: EH started off extremely strong, with Bryna putting one home for the team within seconds of the game starting! However, RH managed to quickly get their game together and they managed to score one right after to level the score. Both sides were then evenly matched for a period of time, with the ball changing possession many times. Li Ann kept up her sick intercepts and defence, keeping RH from scoring. At the same time, EH upped their attacking pressure, with Val scoring from Angie’s intercept. Bryna follows up with another sick long range strike to close the first quarter with a score of 8-2 to EH.

Second quarter 11-4 to EH: EH kept up the insane defence, with Sherlyn jumping to an inhumane height to intercept the ball, forcing a turnover. Our constant defensive pressure on RH with consistent efforts from Sherlyn and Li Ann provided a protective barrier around the goal, preventing any RH players from getting near to it. However, RH took their defence up a notch, forming a deadlock between both teams, with each side unable to score. In the end, Val managed to break the deadlock, scoring with the RH defender inches away from her face. RH retaliates by scoring one back. Nevertheless, EH maintains the lead, with the second quarter closing with a score of 11-4.

Third quarter 21-5 to EH: Faith opens the third quarter with a sick shot straight into the net! Li Ann’s defensive efforts deny RH a few more goals. Not long after, RH managed to wriggle through a gap in our defence and score once more. EH duly replied with Caitlin weaving through the RH defence and sinking one into the hoop. Angie then uses her entire body to block the RH attacker, setting up the play for EH to pass the ball up to Faith, allowing her to score. Caitlin attempted another shot, and managed to score from her own rebound. Caitlin and Faith go on and score a few more clinical goals, closing the third quarter with a score of  21-5. Fourth Quarter 29-6 to EH:

Faith again scores immediately after the quarter starts. Li Ann then takes the rebound after RH attempts to shoot and the ball gets passed along the line extremely quickly. Jamie jukes everyone and passes the ball to Val, who scores once again. Li Ann kept up her beast work, intercepting shot after shot, continuing the RH goal drought. Jamie then executes a super long pass over to Val, who catches it with ease, showing off their great chemistry. Val then puts the ball in the hoop, where it belongs, to close the last quarter with a score of 29-6 to EH.

And again, the girls walk away with yet another victory, now with 2 under their belt as they move on to the semi-finals! Let’s continue to give them our utmost support so that they can continue their winning streak!
