Game 1: E1 vs D1 (Males: 22-3 Females: 12-5)
E Block came in strong at the start, giving everything they had and not showing any mercy to D Block. The disparity in skill level was obvious, but nonetheless both sides put up a good fight. There were many occasions Wei Shyann casually scored 3 pointer shots and Khan and Oscar being offensive in their passes and centre shots, which led to their overwhelming gap of 20-3! When the match ended, Wei Shyann scored a buzzer beater, opening their gap even further to an astounding 22-3! In D Blk, Jeremy displayed his athleticism and managed to steal some balls in the midst of Khan and Oscar’s fast passes, while Nathanael and Fabien kept the pressure going throughout the game! Over to the girls, XinYin, Aderes and Elis gave the D blk girls Felice, Emma and Jayyin a run for their money as they made jaw-dropping shots and fast passes that brought them to a 12-5 score! Congratulations to E1 for the victory and D1 for putting up a good fight! :)
Jeremy on the defensive as Oscar aims a shot at the basket. (All the best for finals today, boys!)
Game 2: C2 vs D2 (Males: 10-4 Females: 3-3)
C Block was off to a rocky start, as they were not in the lead in the first half 2-4, but in the second half they managed a comeback and came back strong! Agile Ajay was able to sneak past his defenders, getting the passes from unguarded spaces, while Biju with his massive size screened his opponent and even ended the game on a buzzer beater! In D2, Peijie, Fabien and Zac pressured their opponents in the first half, and even though they lost the momentum in the second half, they managed to pressure their opponents and did not give their opponents an easy time when the opponents were making a comeback! Over to the girls, both teams showed tenacity and determination in not giving the other the chance to score, ultimately ending their game in a tiebreaker. Congratulations to C2 for the victory and kudos to D2 for putting up a good fight! :)
Game 3: B1 vs E2 (Males: 4-19 Females 13-0)
In this match, while one side lost, the other won. Both blocks displayed a competitive spirit and a hunger for victory, which led to such disparity in scores. For the guys, Wesley from B Block was the one to watch as he made incredible plays from the centre and the 3 pointer line. Even the no look pass to the centre in setting up for a score was something his opponents were not expecting. But sadly 1 basketball player was not good enough against E Block’s players, Elvis, Dylan and Jovi. You could see the chemistry, the patience and the determination to win as they made efficient passes and throws to make the basket. Over to the girls, Cheryl displayed her experience and expertise in the sport and together with her teammates, managed to make jaw-dropping plays and sick shots to make the team win at 13-0.
Game 4: A2 vs B2 (Males: 9-6 Females 14-6)
In the guys match, both sides played aggressively, pushing the ball towards the centre and juking each other so hard even the supporters fell for it! Kenson and Taka displayed team chemistry as they knew what each other wanted; passes from the 3 pointer line to the centre and making fast breaks to the centre. The B Block guys put up a tough fight and made the A Block guys work hard to maintain the lead at 4-3 in the first half. In the second half, B Block made a slight comeback to an 8-6, but could not seal the deal as the second half ended. Kudos to the B Block guys for giving it their all! In the girls match, there were a lot of laughs and funny plays; Shanice and Jermaine having a tussle everywhere in the court, and also where while Shanice missed a shot, she would return Jermaine the favour by making her miss her shots as well! Congratulations to A2 for the win and B2 for putting up a good fight! ;)
Game 5: A1 vs C1 (Males 7-6 Females 11-6)
The last match, truly the highlight in this event! Bryan, Yi Chen and Ethan displayed strong communication and teamwork as they made passes that ran right through their opponents defense, scoring them points in the process. Bryan, being the carry for the team, had no fear pushing forward, scaring their opponents in the process! Meanwhile, Kenson and Taka, exhausted from their previous game, managed to pull a win with their solid chemistry! Both sides fought tenaciously and the game was a close one! The A Team brought in their A game, winning them at 7-6! To the girls, Avina, Clae and Yun Xi put up a strong fight against the A Block girls despite not playing basketball before. Clae with her numerous 3 pointer shots, manages to score one in the end, making up ⅓ of their overall score. Congratulations to A1 for the win and C1 for putting up a good fight! :)
Yi Chen's determination shows on his face...

E2: Jovi, Dylan, Jovanna, Chao Zhou, Oscar, Elis, Aderes, Xin Yin
Although spectators were not allowed into the MCP, it was still nonetheless, a good friendly match among all the blocks. The matches began with male and females respectively then mixed gender matches.
Game 1: E1 vs D1 (11-7)
Everything happened in a blink of an eye. Really cannot blink because once you blink, you miss it. Just like any other matches, the guys were loud while the girls were calm. D block made super good and smooth passes. For E block, we had Glenn the tiktok star as the captain! Not only can he run on the track, he can play captain ball too. Hearsay, he is in DP and dances very well ya. Anyway, for guys, E block won by 3 points . The girls side played a super friendly match with D block leading by 1 point. After that, it was a mixed gender match where everything got more intense where everyone was transferring their own sports skill. Overall, E block won!
Janine reaches for the ball as Aditi and Phoebe try to anticipate her next move.
Game 2: C2 vs D2 (16-13)
Just like the first game, the girls were playing silently with laughters echoing across the court. This match we had Bryan Beh as one of the MVPs! He was a pro manz. He made phenomenal passes from afar across the court and led the team to win but of course, it was a group effort still. D blockers were great interceptors and always tried to defend the ball. At the extremely last minute, it was a tie between C2 and D2. *intense music* 3 passes and FAR SWIFT AND SMOOTH pass from Bryan Beh to Yichen!!!
Game 3: B1 vs E2 (16-18)
I was only looking up and down, and bamz the match started. Once again, everyone was moving so agile. In this match, Chao Zhou was noticeable as he used his VB high jumps to defend and intercept the balls throughout the game. He is able to jump as high as a horse. The intensity of the matches increased. B block intercepted the ball at the very last minute and it was so closeeeee!!! But the ball went out of the court. It’s okay! E blockers at the side were helping the players to count the number of passes HAHAHA team work makes a dream work!
Game 4: A2 vs B2 (13-12)
The match started off with Jaypy’s amazing jump and Jihn Hao, the basketballer, catching the ball with one hand which WOW-ed the crowd!! Over to the girls, Jermaine, another basketballer, used her basketball skills to ace this match. The mixed gender match was indeed fascinating to watch as A block sent their star players out onto the court! They have Kenson who went all out for the team with his sick moves that awed the crowd. Nonetheless, good job A2 and B2!
Game 5: A1 vs C1 (9-15)
This was the last match and the players were pumped up and ready to set off for their matches! C block bashie Rishika looked stunning on the court, even when intercepting the ball! She is an all around who runs and plays netball!! This game had the most number of funny moments where Tin Tin kept dropping the ball HAHAHA no one knew what he was doing! C block was leading throughout but A block was still supercharged, with their supporters cheering at the side. The atmosphere was electric.
GOOD GAME EVERYBODY!!
It had been a hectic evening, but with the physically demanding sports like Basketball and Captains Ball out of the way, we move on to our Esports game of the day, Overcooked.
These are the teams and the line-ups of the night:
A Block
A1: Derek, Angel
A2: Celestene, Vernice
B Block
B1: Jerome, Stefan
B2: Anya, Celine
C Block
C1: Vic, Neek
C2: Sherwin, Qiyanah
D Block
D1: Claudia, Felicia
D2: Kai Xin, Joel Neo
E Block
E1: Oscar, Elis
E2: Adam, Yew Kit
Game 1: E1 vs D1 (1 - 2)
Oscar and Elis (E1) were up against tough opponents in this match, namely Claudia and Felicia (D1). The duo Claudia and Felicia were calm and collected, almost as if they had clocked in countless hours of practice in this game prior to the match. They were experts at the game, teamwork could clearly be seen as they communicated with precision. In the games, Oscar and Elis could be seen struggling as the raw ingredients were all over the place with their portion of the map dishevelled. 212 to 45, the E blockers could not keep up with their opponents as Claudia and Felicia confidently and continuously turned in perfect orders. 307 to 45, their reign continues. Then suddenly, 447 to 291. The E blk duo were on fire as they got into their rhythm and started to catch up. But to no avail, Claudia and Felicia were too far ahead, and they won the game 707 to 300 even though Felicia fell off the map in the last 10 seconds. D1 took the win in this game.
Game 2: C2 vs D2 (2 - 1)
In this game, Sherwin and Qiyanah from C2 went up against Kai Xin and Joel Neo from D2. This game was the most silent of all the games played, and possibly the most intense. Ngl I missed out on most of the action because they were playing with tranquility at the end of the DH, away from all the action. Nonetheless, from my short stint of observation, Sherwin and Qiyanah had organised roles and they played confidently whilst the duo from D2 fell short in perhaps mechanical skill, but all in all still showed great teamwork and communication. Sherwin and Qiyannah used it to their advantage and managed to win 2 to 1.
Game 3: B1 vs E2 (3 - 0)
E2 Adam and Yew Kit were matched against Jerome and Stefan from B1 in this game. I have to say, it was a pretty unfairly matched game, as the team that managed to dip their scores into the negative region during warmups went up against a fairly experienced team who actually knew how to play the game. As I made my way from the other 4 teams who were simultaneously playing at different edges of the DH, the B blk duo were already up 2 - 0 against the E2 team. At this point, they were playing the third set, where E2 started showing signs of hope and possibly a winning one. 100 to 50, Adam and Yew Kit were playing well when suddenly, Adam THROWS the finished plate down the platform into the depths of Overcooked hell. 193 to 85, surprisingly after that seemingly fatal mistake, the E2 boys were still up by more than double. Then Jerome clutches and gets in the groove. 193 to 85 suddenly turns into 168 to 163, as the E2 duo serves food not even on the menu. Then, 246 to 248 as Stefan makes a comeback and brings the team another win to put them 3-0
Game 4: A2 vs B2 (1 - 2)
Celestene and Vernice from A2 versus Anya and Celine from B2, who both came impromptu just minutes before the match started. Anddddddd it begins. Cabbages, tomatoes littered the ground as both teams scrambled to get in order due to the new map selection they took so long to choose. “Eh which side am I on” said Anya halfway through the game as she realised that she doesn’t even know which avatar she was. Despite the rough start and circumstances, Anya and Celine were still up 110 to 60, possibly with the hard carry from Celine. Celestene and Vernice on the other hand, still remained calm in the game in a time when most others would have raged and expressed their gaming anger management issues. 371 to 279, the girls from B blk were up by about 100 28seconds before the game ended. The game ends with a pretty respectable score from both teams @ 471 to 329, even though the map was relatively tougher.
Game 5: A1 vs C1 (2 - 1)
Derek and Angel from A1 were up against Vic and Neek from C1. Neek and Vic were definitely the loudest and best communicators of the bunch in the entire DH. As I traversed the DH round and round visiting the different stations, there was never a time I couldn’t hear them at the back of my head. 96 vs 28, Angel and Derek excelled as the communication on C blk’s end breaks down and goes into shambles. Whilst Neek and Vic were busy quarrelling, their opponents were on fire as they served plates after plates of food. “VIC YOU’RE TOO SLOW” says Neek when he was the one who most often messed up. 410 to 211 were the final score as the Angel Derek duo emerged victorious amongst the bustling atmosphere.
With that, the second day of IBG came to an end just as exciting as the first, with D block overtaking C block as first runner up, while E block defending the champion spot. Only one more day left to compete, so stay tuned for Volleyball and Mobile Legends tonight!
