Today’s the first match for the Eusoff Handball (F) team in their IHG. The first step in one’s journey often shapes the journey one will take. Today’s opponent is a tough one. Sheares Hall, though traditionally not a sports hall, had received strong moral support from a famous celebrity. I won’t go further in depth because today all the attention should be focused onto the girls team and now let’s jump right into it to review today’s game!
The starting line up is as shown: (Outfield) Charmaine Bowie Tamelly (Keeper) Michelle
As soon as the whistle blew, both Sheares and Eusoff began to trade exchanges. Both defences kept the match goal-less before Charmaine scored the opening goal. This then kept the ball rolling as each member of the Eusoff outfield continued to score on Sheares. Meanwhile, Michelle was blocking shots from Sheares insanely well, leaving no room for the ball to enter. A time-out was then called at 5-0 for both teams to adjust their strategies and improvise. The coach advised the lineup to maintain the lead and of course, score when/if possible. After the timeout, the game resumed and both teams aimed to score on each other. With the ball flying through the court repeatedly, the atmosphere was indeed tense. Ultimately, the team held on to retain the early lead and kept the score at 5-0 to Eusoff.

2nd Set Lineup: (Outfield) Mabel, Rebecca, Chloe (Keeper) Avina
With a switch of sides, the 2nd set began. Both started off playing slowly and methodically to maintain their stamina levels. Goals were attempted on both ends but both keepers were able to block constantly. The Sheares outfield then juked the Eusoff outfield by doing a fake throw into a pass and then a shoot into the net secured the early lead of 1-0 for Sheares. However, our outfield was swift and decisive, immediately replying with a goal to draw the match for the moment. Chloe then threw a ball that bounced into the inner part of the crossbar and it definitely looked like it was a goal. However, the officials flagged it as a “no-goal” and the match continued. With a defensive tackle that was flagged by the referee, Chloe got a 2-minute suspension, leaving the outfield to just 2 women. The Sheares coach, though agitated, reminded his team not to cheer for the suspension. A good sign of sportsmanship from him in my opinion. With a penalty rewarded, Sheares was able to score and the score was now 2-1. Sheares then extended the lead to 3-1 shortly after, despite a good defence by Eusoff. Our outfield looked to catch up with repeated attempts which were blocked by the Sheares keeper. Many trades of scoring occurred back and forth as Eusoff still looked to catch up. Towards the end, Rebecca was given a 1-minute suspension due to a technical foul and a penalty was also given to Sheares. Clear and composed, Avina successfully blocked the incoming ball. At 1.5 minutes left, the score was 6-4 and Eusoff called for a timeout to re-strategize. The urgency was at its highest with good Ds from both teams. Sheares saw an opening and scored the final goal, with the whistle blowing soon after.
Set 2: 7-4 to Sheares Hall
line 2 faced difficulties as they met SH's strongest line, yet Avina was able to defend many shots!
Set 3 Line-up: (Outfield) Rishika, Reese, Shi Yun (Keeper) Ying Jia
And now the final set began. Eusoff started off the game strong with an offensive collaboration by Rishika and Reese, giving the team a goal. The handball team cheered the lineup on with their unwavering support and encouragement. A follow-up offence increased the lead to 2-nil. Repeated good Ds by Eusoff kept the sheet clean for Eusoff. Ying Xia was a beast blocking the continuous attempts by Sheares, also helping to ensure the clean sheet. Sheares kept trying to score, but yet the team looked invincible with their withstanding defence. Meanwhile, the outfield was able to find a few more opportunities and scored. The lead was then extended to 6-0, a comfortable lead for Eusoff indeed. A last-ditch effort by Sheares found them a goal to make it 6-1 but that was all that was written for the game.
Set 3: 6-1 to Eusoff Hall

With the overall victory of 2-1, EH sure looks dominant at the first step of their IHG journey. Huge props and congratulations to Eusoff Handball F in their victory in this competitive series! Tomorrow, there’ll be more handball as the guys look to take on KE7.
