The 23rd of January marked the start of the season for our floorball boys as they took on Sheares. With a line-up of experienced IVP players and our superstar freshies, it was sure to be a very exciting match.
Period 1: 1-0 to Sheares
The game started with Sheares gaining early possession of the ball and threatening our goal a couple of times. Within minutes, the opposing team took a long shot but was miraculously caught by keeper, Dillon. After the scare, the boys quickly found their footing and made several advances with a close strike by Jungha and a long shot attempt by Jaypy. Unfortunately, an unexpected goal by Sheares allowed them to take an early lead.
Period 2: 2-1 to Eusoff
Moments after the start of the second period, Legend Hao Yuan executed a shot out of nowhere to the bottom right corner whilst the Sheares defence was caught off guard, equalizing the score. It was simply unstoppable. Our boys relentlessly put pressure on Sheares’ defence with shots taken by Jaypy, Nic, Hao Yuan and Terry, keeping the Sheares keeper constantly on his toes. As the game became more heated, one of the Sheares player committed a foul and would lead to him having to sit out for 2 minutes. The Eusoff boys took the chance and kept the pressure on with a lengthy period of possession. As the game intensified, the multiple attacks by our boys left the Sheares defence scrambling. Vice captain Jon capitalized on the lethargy of the Sheares keeper and defenders as he bagged a goal for Eusoff.

Period 3: 8-5 to Eusoff
Riding on the momentum of the 2 goals scored in the previous period, previous captain and veteran Terry bulldozed past Sheares’ defence and smashes the ball into the bottom left corner on the post. Outstanding defence from the boys and trusty keepers, Dillon and Ardy, kept the Sheares’ offence at bay. A long-range drive from Hao Yuan through a sea of defenders extended Eusoff’s lead and another mistake from the Sheares keeper allowed Jon to score once again, further extending our lead. Hungry for more goals, Hao Yuan weaved past the Sheares defenders as he drove down the wing, cuts in and SCORED with wonderful ease and finesse. SIMPLY AMAZING stuff from Eusoff.
Hao Yuan shushes the haters. No words. No trash talk. No nonsense. All action.
Frustrated, Sheares went all out on the attack and it paid off, closing the gap 6-2 to Eusoff. A corner by Eusoff allowed JJ to shoot straight into the goal post, bringing the total number of goals to a whooping 7. In a bid to catch up, Sheares attacked ferociously and scored 2 goals in a short span of two minutes. Unfazed, the D4 combination of Presley and Jungha brought the score to 8-4 to Eusoff. In the last few minutes, some VAR drama and deliberation saw the referee awarding Sheares with a goal. Ultimately, the game concluded with a score of 8-5 to Eusoff.
The match today demonstrated the prowess of our floorball boys as they aggressively attacked while maintaining a solid line of defence. We look forward to the many more matches to come as we continue to support them in this IHG journey!
