After a long break since their last match against Sheares, the Eusoff boys took on KE7 in their second match of the season. The boys exuded confidence as they strutted into the court, all ready to secure the win.
Period 1: 3-0 to EH
The boys started off strong with a close attempt by Jaypy (from almost midcourt) but was unfortunately saved by the KE keeper. Two minutes into the first period, an early goal by Jared Steve saw Eusoff gain an upper hand in the game. The next goal came in shortly after the first and it came from a shot just outside the box, from our vice-captain, Jon. The crowd went wild when favourites Aniq, Ronald and E block’s bashie, Jin Song, entered the court. Commendable effort by Kumaran and Ronald as both of them attempted to slip the ball pass the keeper.
Fun moments came in the first period as Ronald, amongst others, stepped on to show where months of training had brought them.
Another amazing goal by Jon put us well in the lead with a margin of 3 goals. Throughout the period, the ball was constantly at our attacking half with their insane ball control and accurate passes.
Period 2: 5-1 to EH
Determined to narrow the gap, KE’s offence was more aggressive in the second period as they advanced aggressively. However, the shots were easily saved by shot-stopper Dillon, who did not show any sign of fatigue after his impressive DP performance the previous day! Ya girl! It didn’t take long for us to bag another goal and it was none other than JJ who scored!! Despite having a volleyball match right after, JJ gave his all and truly did not disappoint as he made multiple attacks. Good tries by Nic and Kumaran came by, who made several fakes (it was hard to tell if it’s a fake or miss), as he threw the opponents off guard many times. Unfortunately, we conceded a goal as KE desperately puts more pressure on our defence. The period ended with a superb goal by Ryan Jay with an assist from Terry. The highlight of the period was definitely when Daniel’s $150 floorball stick snapped into two, due to the intensity of the game. Poor boy, broke boy.
Period 3: 8-1 to EH
As the last period commenced, a long-range goal by Daniel from the corner (probably from the frustration of the broken stick) brought our lead to 6-1.
A broken stick did not stop Daniel as he stunned the crowd and opponents with a brilliant goal.
Supported by a brilliant assist by Hao Yuan, Jon scored once more, bringing his number of goals in this game to a grand total of 3!! Truly an ace for the Eusoff team as he bagged his hat-trick!! Just as the game was about to end, Terry added his name to the scoreboard with a long and precise shot past the keeper. Ultimately, the game concluded with a score of 8-1 to Eusoff.
The win against KE sent our boys soaring straight to the Semis as they top the group!!! With perfect passes and high possession percentages throughout the match today, it was certainly a confidence booster for the team moving forward! Good job Eusoff and be sure to head down to support the floorball boys in the upcoming Semis!
