With two victories under their belt, the Eusoff floorball boys entered MPSH6 once again, intent on claiming another one in their match against Raffles Hall. However, with team captain Keith injured and out of action, this match proved to be quite literally, a different ball game for our players. In spite of the changes in the lineup for the team, our boys managed to perform spectacularly, claiming the win with a score of 10-4 to Eusoff and qualifying the team for the finals.
Line 1: 2-0, W
Ivan, Arkar, Jie Rui, Jia Jun
The game kicked off to a roaring start with our boys gaining early possession of the ball. With numerous skillful passes between the players, Ivan made their first goal of the game in the second shift. The RH team responded by upping their defence, saving numerous shots by our boys before Jia Jun broke through their defence with a goal in the fourth shift, bringing the team to a score of 2-0 to Eusoff at the end of the game.
shimmying past RH with no problem~~
Line 2: 3-1, W
Shu Wei, Matthew, Benji, Nicolai
Braving his injury from his previous match with KE, Shu Wei stepped back on court to face the RH opponents. Matthew started the game off well by gaining early possession in the face-off. Both teams fought fiercely over the ball, with 6 players huddling in front of the tiny goal at one point in the game. The first point of the set went to Nicolai, who took advantage of a lapse in RH’s defence to make a shot near the goal in the second shift. Following this, the team continued to shoot relentlessly at the opponent’s goal, with Shu Wei and Benji making consecutive goals before RH broke our scoring streak with a goal in the last shift, bringing the score to 5-1 to Eusoff.
Line 3: 1-2, L
Stephen, Timothy, Kevyn, Cedric
After coming together for a team huddle on court, the boys put on their game face as they readied themselves for the intense match to come. The game started off slow, with both teams failing to convert possession into points. However, the game picked up in the subsequent shifts, with Kevyn scoring a goal and bringing us to a score of 1-0 to Eusoff for the shift. However, as the boys got increasingly tired, the RH players were able to take advantage of lapses in our defence to score, bringing the total score to 6-3 to Eusoff.
AAND WE STOLE THE BALL
Line 4: 4-1, W
Demetrius, Ryan Tham, Jun Wei, Timothy (keeper)
Going up against the strongest RH line was our very own strongest lineup of skilled freshies, featuring ‘No ACL, No problem’ Demetrius, TikTok star Ryan Tham (@ryeones), multi-sport keeper Timothy and "unmoanable name" (https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSegRyuhE/) Jun Wei. Demetrius makes the first goal for the line with laser-like accuracy, with Timothy shutting RH down by saving RH’s shots with his quick reflexes. However, at the third shift, one of the RH player’s existing ACL injury forces him off the court, which resulted in our own ACL-less player to be excluded from the play as the game continued in a 2v2 (with keeper) format. However, this change did little to affect Ryan and Jun Wei’s performance, as they quickly adapted and continued to make numerous goals. However, Ryan heads one of RH’s high balls, which turned out to be against the rules, earning the RH team a free shot that Timothy failed to save, earning them their sole point for the set. The line ended the game with a total score of 10-4, once again coming out on top.
Congratulations to the team for earning yet another win as they continue on their IHG journey! Tune in to the livestream to cheer our floorball boys on as they battle it out for the IHG championship title.
