Well-rested from their previous match against KE7, it was time for our Eusoff boys to take on Kent Ridge in the Semis. The crowd was overwhelmed with excitement and anticipation as KR was known to be a formidable opponent.

Right from the start, KR gained quick possession of the ball and incessantly attacked our defence. Thirty seconds into the first period, KR attempted to make it past our keeper with a long-range shot. Thankfully, the shot was stopped by our sturdiest concrete wall, Dillon.

Eager to draw the first blood, our boys got more aggressive with their offence as Ryan C took a daring shot but closely missed. Similarly, KR stepped up their offence but a double save by Dillon left them dumbfounded as they struggled to score. Moments later, as supporters from both camps waited in anticipation to see which team will bag the first goal, Eusoff scored!! Our Floorball God, Hao Yuan, really lived up to his name and gave Eusoff an early lead into the game. Riding on the high from the first goal, our boys made three consecutive attempts in the next two minutes, putting a considerable amount of pressure on KR defence. Subsequently, a sick interception by Captain Jaypy led to a brilliant shot by Terry. Unfortunately, the shot was just slightly wide. Moments after, a stunning goal by Jared Steve saw Eusoff extending the lead to 2-0. The shot caught the keeper off guard and it was near impossible for him to save it.

Captain Jaypy led by example on the court, making sick plays all night.

Period 1: 2-0 to EH

When the period commenced, Ryan Jay and Terry wasted no time and made several shots, keeping the KR keeper busy. The shots taken were all really close, leading to collective “Oh”s by the supporters multiple times. Mid-period, Thousand-Hands Ardy went in for Dillon and the KR offence sure did not give him an easy time as our IVP keeper made many marvellous saves. An unfortunate foul by one of our players led to him sitting at the naughty corner and Eusoff was one man down for two minutes. Seeing it as a golden opportunity to close the margin, KR took many chances as they intensified their attacks. Undeterred by the aggressiveness of the opposing team, Jon weaved through the sea of KR defenders and took a shot, which was blocked by the keeper. While both teams continued their reign of attacks, no goals were scored by both sides in this period.

Period 2: 2-0

Going into the last period, our boys tightened up the defence and made a series of offensive plays, determined to secure the WIN. With the clock ticking, the game was certainly getting more intense as (1) a hard tackle by KR sent Jon crashing through the boards and (2) Ryan Jay’s pink floorball stick snapped into two. That’s right, one more broken stick. Really tough. Another poor boy, broke boy. Seeking to bag some goals in the last period, KR offence attacked non-stop but the shots were blocked by Dillon the Beast. Our offence was working hard as well as the KR defence scrambled to keep up. However, an intercept by Jon went straight into the keeper’s hands and a shot by Hao Yuan bounced off the keeper. It did not take long for Jon to find his footing as he dashed forward and scored from right in front the post, bringing the scoreline to 3-0. Shortly after, with a beautiful assist from Hao Yuan, JJ secured another goal for Eusoff!! What a spectacular performance! The game concluded with a score of 4-1 to Eusoff.

Jon’s amazing shots left the crowd in awe as they applauded his athleticism.

Final score: 4-1 to Eusoff

Commendable effort by Nic, Hao Yuan and Ryan C as they made many flawless crosses and strategic passes. Many amongst the crowd agree that the Man-of–the-Match was definitely keeper, Dillon, as he ensured that the post is simply impenetrable with his insane skills. Eusoff’s game play today was definitely phenomenal and the boys certainly deserve the spot in the finals!! Really nicely done guys and be sure to be at USC this Sunday to show your support!!
