Our floorball girls are back in MPSH6 after their decisive win against KR for their second IHG match against Raffles Hall’s floorballers. The girls proved themselves to be miles above the competition, decimating their opponents with a final score of 16-1 to Eusoff in a series of exciting plays.
Line 1: 1-1
Ashley, Nikki, Humaira, Xin Tian
The game started with neither team willing to let up, ending the first period with a score of 0-0. However, the pace of the game started to pick up in the second period, with Ashley making the first goal of the night, bringing the score to 1-0 to Eusoff. Following this, the Raffles team upped their defences, blocking our shots and holding us down to one goal. In the fifth period, the RH team took advantage of a lapse in our defence to make an opportunistic shot at our goal, bringing the score to a 1-1 draw at the end of the game.
Ashley's loooong limbs helping her keep the ball in possession
Line 2: 7-0, W
Zoey, Charmaine, Tamelly, Celine
This lineup featured some of our most talented players, including Charmaine making her IHG floorball debut. Celine started the game off well, gaining early possession of the ball right off the bat. Charmaine then took the chance to make a shot at the goal, earning us our first goal of the set. She quickly proved that this wasn’t simply down to luck, scoring again right at the beginning of the second period. Zoey showed off her years of experience in the sport with some insane defensive plays that kept the RH team down and demoralised, and numerous clinically executed shots that helped us further our lead. Our aggressive offensive tactics paid off, earning us an overwhelming 7 point lead over the RH team.
yay scored so many! rly how stacked sia...
Line 3: 6-0, W
Joie, Rachel Ow, Shanice, Queenie (Keeper)
This lineup is the first of 2 to feature a standard-sized floorball goal and a keeper. Star senior Shanice kicked off the game by gaining our team early possession of the ball, which was skillfully whacked towards the goal, only to be saved by KE’s keeper. However, our girls persisted in maintaining possession of the ball, with Joie immediately swooping in for the ball and keeping it in play. In the second period, Joie made a quick pass to Shanice who shot the ball past the keeper into the goal. Our non-stop attacks at the goal left the keeper so overwhelmed that I almost felt bad, causing her to fumble several times and let in goals in our team’s favour. In retaliation, the RH players attempted to shoot through our defence from the half-court line, only to have all their shots saved by our goalkeeper, Queenie. The end of the match saw our score gap widening yet again, bringing the total score to 14-1 to Eusoff.
Line 4: 4-0, W
Ying Ying, Nat Law, Jerica, Jovanna (Keeper)
Our final lineup of the day featured none other than our star player and captain, Ying Ying, as well as Jerica making her floorball debut. Ying Ying quickly took control of the game, directing the ball around the opponents and creating opportunities for the team to shoot. The team displayed solid teamwork and chemistry, passing the ball back and forth between each other and dodging the opponents seamlessly, preventing the RH team from gaining possession of the ball. By the end of the game, Jovanna, the lineup’s keeper, looked almost frustrated that she never got to save a shot because the ball rarely ever crossed over to our side of the court. Our strong defence, coupled with the raw offensive power of our lineup and the clinical shots made by each player, made for a seemingly effortless win for our ridiculously stacked lineup of players, bringing the final score for the game to an impressive 16-1 to Eusoff.
Jerica's floorball debut showcased some amazing defense skills
With another win under their belt, the Eusoff floorball girls will now prepare for their semi-finals match happening next Sunday. Tune in to the livestream and support our girls as they continue on their journey to achieving IHG champs!
