After months of hard work, the time has finally come for our girls to battle it out with the other halls for this year’s floorball championship title! While there were only a handful of supporters due to the recent advisory, the girls remained positive and kept their spirits high!
Floorball (F) v SH
Our first game was against Sheares and immediately after the whistle went off, our girls went full out on their attacks. An assist by Gin to Xin Yi almost gave us a very early lead, but unfortunately, the shot was slightly off target. A counter by one of the Sheares attacker was then easily saved by veteran keeper, Weilynn! Prying into the gaps of SH’s defence, Briana, Hasya and Gin attempted to get the ball past the keeper in the first three minutes into the game. Ultimately, it was star player Zoey who secured us our first goal and it was 1-0 to EH!! Hungry for more goals, Vera, Shi Ying and Pei Xuan made multiple attacks which were all very close misses. Shortly after, a sensational shot by Captain Gin from mid-court took the Sheares keeper by surprise as we extended our lead to 2-0! The goal was simply amazing and even the supporters were shocked! Less than a minute later, Zoey, with her excellent ball control, earned Eusoff another goal! At this rate the girls were going, it was a complete domination by Eusoff. The first period ended with Eusoff taking a 3-goal lead.

Period 1: 3-0 to EH
Looking to extend Eusoff’s goal streak, Hasya took a swing but was saved by one of SH’s defenders. The girls were definitely relentless in the pursuit of securing the win as Shi Ying made a long-range attempt from mid court and Pei Xuan took a second attempt shot. SH keeper was barely able to take a breather amidst the hustle. It was time for Weilynn to take a break as Ritha went in for her to be the last line of defence. Ritha was simply sensational as she made so many beautiful saves and it really looked like a piece of cake to her!! Fantastic effort by Ke En as she took an angled shot which almost went past the keeper’s legs. Nat and Shi Ying are really testing the keeper as they ferociously attacked and showed no mercy. Props to our defence line as the good ball control and strategic crosses by our girls left SH with no chance to get near our post. Right then, Pei Xuan dashed past several SH defenders and looped the ball into the top left corner of the post, widening Eusoff’s lead to a four goal margin!!
Period 2: 4-0 to EH
Not left, not right, but A TOP MIDDLE shot into the post by Shi Ying brought the scoreline to 5-0. Not long after, with her smooth moves, Pei Xuan made a super precise shot and IN.IT.WENT!! Eusoff was up by 6 goals. Will we concede a goal? With Ritha’s quick reflexes, clearly not. 7 minutes to the final whistle and Shanice went down the line quickly came in with a top left corner goal, 7-0 to EH!! Less than 3 more minutes left and we would all think the score will remain at 7-0, but NO. 7 goals were just not enough for the girls as Hasya smacked the ball straight into the post!! The game ended with a score of 8-0 to EH!
Final Score: 8-0 to EH
Floorball (F) v TH
Still high from their win from the match an hour ago, the girls were pumped up and eager to put up a strong fight against our friendly neighbours, Temasek. Early pressure from Vera and Nat shows the confidence of our girls as they dominated the attacking zone. Unwilling to concede the first goal, TH’s offence increased pressure on our defenders and keeper but magnificent saves by Weilynn showed them who’s the boss. With both sides solid defence, the score deadlocked at 0-0 for the first period.

Period 1: 0-0
As the second period commenced, Eusoff was one man down because of a foul. However, that did not stop the girls from stepping up on their attacks. Pei Xuan steals possession of the ball as she counters and attempts to score twice in a row. Truly a legend! A half court shot by Gin grazes the side post but it was Xin Yi who gave us a lead over the opposing team!! Brilliant effort from Xin Yi!! The TH players looked slightly disheartened and battered from the conceded goal as never did they expect such an amazing shot !! Moments later, girl of many talents, Elis (our badminton captain) bagged another goal for Eusoff!! This left the TH players confused as they conceded two goals in a short span of time though they were controlling the ball 90% of the time. It’s quality not quantity.
Period 2: 2-0
In the last period, the only thing that was going through the girls’ minds was “DEFEND…DEFEND…”. Can the girls hold onto the lead? With accurate precisive passes amongst the players, our reliable and steady line of defence kept the TH offence at bay. Defeat was inevitable for the opposing team and the girls started playing with increasing confidence as the countdown begins. AND THEY DID IT!! The game ended with a score of 2-0 to EH!
Period 3: 2-0
Job well done, girls! Despite the circumstances, they made the best out of the situation and supported one another! We are really proud of you and continue to fly the Eusoff Flag high in the second day of the carnival!!
