Floorball Carnival (F) EH vs KE (8/1 11am)
It was time for the Eusoff Floorball girls to kick off their IHG season. Confident and stacked, they head towards the courts to face their first opponent of the day, King Edward VII Hall. The players from the other halls watched on in awe as the girls warmed up valiantly, putting the balls into the back of the net right from the very start. Similar to the floorball guys, the IVP floorball girls were sitting this game out too but the team remained confident in securing the W.
The lineup for the KE game was as follows:
Line 1: Lay Shuen, Jerica, Lily, Clae, Vanessa
Line 2: Leeann, Elis, Nichelle, Natalie, Saybah, Hanxi
Goalkeepers: Michelle, Ong
The game started off with Line 1 and Ong in goal, as the girls went head to head with KE, fighting for every loose ball and attacking relentlessly. In the first period, there were some remarkable plays from Jerica, Natalie and Vanessa, as they were working extra hard to win the ball back quickly and also drive forward and attack the spaces left behind by KE! Eventually, the first goal is scored by Vanessa, after a first shot that goes wide. The girls were taking shots rapidly, trying to get the upper hand by scoring more goals early on in the first period, giving the KE keeper a hard time, but the first period ended with that single goal. In the second period, despite having a few close shots on goal, not only were they all saved, but one of the quick free hit restarts for KE was converted to an equalizer. Great defending effort from Hanxi, and many lethal shots were taken by Elis and Saybah in this period. Even though Eusoff was 1 girl up for 2 minutes, due to an incorrect distance foul by KE, they failed to capitalize on this advantage and find the back of the net and the second period ended in a draw. The girls were hungry for the win and it was evident when Natalie scored right from the start of the third period from a crucial interception. Michelle was subbed on, and made many vital saves, with both her hands and her helmet. Eusoff was attacking KE rapidly and made countless shots, but KE did not succumb to their pressure and even slotted home an equalizer again right at the very end when a loose ball fell to one of the KE players, putting them through on goal. With 1 minute to go, Zoey (Eusoff Captain and IVP player) could not take it anymore from the sidelines, and made a decision to play for the last minute in hopes of clinching a winner. Unfortunately, not all stories have happy endings and it was not a fairy tale ending for her and Eusoff this time round. The game ends in a draw with KE. But it was a start to Eusoff’s floorball fury for the rest of the carnival that day.

Floorball Carnival (F) EH vs RH (8/1 1pm)
The second opponent to face Eusoff was Raffles Hall. They did not know what was ahead of them - a super hungry (for a massive win) Eusoff team. Right from the warmups, the passion and the eagerness to strike could be witnessed by all and it was probably known by all that RH was going to have it tough now that Eusoff has suffered an unexpected setback (draw against KE).
The lineup for the RH game was as follows: Line 1: Saybah, Vanessa, Lily, Lay, Jerica, Anqi, Celeste, Ying ying
Line 2: Nich, Shak, Hanxi, Nat, Elis, Clae, Zoey
Goalkeepers: Michelle, Ong
With some added firepower in the team, Eusoff started the game on a high. Within the first 4 minutes, Eusoff scores their first goal as Vanessa taps home a brilliant cross into the middle. It was a dominant display for the girls as the ball remained in RH’s half for most of the first period, leaving Ong alone in goal. Even with Lay out for 2 minutes, due to an incorrect substitution, the girls held up well and kept the score at 1-0 while playing 4v5. In the second period, Eusoff bagged their second, in a minute after the restart, giving them a comfortable 2-0 lead over RH. Shortly after, the game was paused due to a surprising jersey error on Eusoff’s end as Celeste and Vanessa were both wearing the jersey 36. After checking the lineups and RnR, the referees decided to resume play with Celeste at the naughty corner. Momentum was definitely with RH as they scored their first goal from the restart, playing the 4v5 game. That was nearly the only highlights for RH as the rest of the game saw mainly Eusoff firing bangers from every direction by every girl. They were so hungry to extend their lead. They won every second ball, won every loose ball, and threw shots whenever they could. Eventually, RH concedes as the girls intercept a RH corner and scores. It was not over. Ying ying scores a banger from far out as the ball hits the post and goes in. Eusoff was 4 up in the second period but they continued pressing and shooting and intercepting and shooting (yes I said shooting twice). There were many close chances for Eusoff but a quick move by Raffles saw the ball at the back of the Eusoff net for their second goal. A reply was almost immediate from Eusoff as Elis put one in the top left corner after a bullet-like Ying ying strike was saved. The eventful second period comes to an end at 5-2 to Eusoff. The third period can be summed up with a few words - SOLID D, SOLID SHOTS. It was a period full of goals and solid defending by the girls. There were standout performances by Hanxi and Anqi as no RH player could pass through them the entire period. Michelle also put on her A game as she kept out the few shots on target that RH could pull off. Apart from that, the goals were raining down at MPSH6 for Eusoff, as goals from Zoey, Anqi, Celeste and Anqi put an end to the battle with a final score of 10-2 to Eusoff.

Floorball Carnival (F) EH vs SH (8/1 3.30pm)
After destroying Raffles, Eusoff was not done. The girls got to the warm up right away when the previous game was over while their next opponent (or should I say victims), were still sleeping outside of the MPSH. Despite it being their third game of the day, they seemed even sharper than their first warm up session.
The lineup for the RH game was as follows: Line 1: Saybah, Zoey, Vanessa, Lily, Lay, Jerica, Celeste,
Line 2: Izzy, Anqi, Shak, Hanxi, Nat, Elis, Zoey, Ying ying
Goalkeepers: Gin, Ong, Michelle
Eusoff started the first period off and immediately the girls bagged the first goal within seconds, sending the crowd wild. They really popped off from the very beginning and started the game in the best possible manner. At some point, the game began looking like a shooting drill for the Eusoff girls. They were firing shots from every angle possible, from every part of the court too. Ying ying and Zoey were leading most of the attacks and were making the Sheares keeper’s life immensely difficult. Even though the ball was kept in Sheares' half for most of the first period, the Eusoff girls finally scored their second goal to start their ruthless goal-scoring blitz after 6 minutes. Ying ying pulls off a banger to the top right - the keeper stood no chance (it was so fast I missed it because I blinked). Zoey quickly clinched a third while the girls lined up to shoot and score as well. Goals from Zoey, Celeste, Lily and Elis put Eusoff up 6 - 0 at the end of the first period (only). Goalkeeper Gin faced a total of 0 shots the entire first period and was having a fun time watching the girls score. The Sheares girls and supporters were dreading the end to this painful defeat, but Eusoff was not finished with them just yet.
Sheares has nothing against Hanxi, our wall of defence, despite her size. As soon as the second period began, it was deja vu as Saybah nets Eusoff’s 7th goal right off the bat (or should I say stick?). The girls were having a field day letting fly shots from everywhere and some shots were so close and clean that the crowds could not believe their eyes. Hanxi had a remarkable performance at the back as she showed off her classy defence and collected any loose balls that dropped into Eusoff’s half. Another goal from Jerica sealed the second period at 8 - 0. Refreshed, the girls began their final period and gave it their all despite being up 8 nil. It was truly goals galore as the fantastic Eusoff side netted 10 goals in the final period. Standout performances from all the girls but special shoutouts to Hanxi and Ying ying as they displayed their true prowess and left the crowds in shock.

A smile plastered on Saybah's face as she scores!
