The much anticipated Basketball Inter-Hall Games season has begun and what better way than having our guys basketball team put on a clinic at UTSH2 today against KE7, even without their IVP players.

The first basket of the game was scored by none other than team captain Jason who pump-fakes the defender, sending him flying off the court as Jason calmly drains an easy uncontested shot. Freshie Bryan Beh took a ball to the face as the KE7 player played squash with his face to gain possession by sending the ball out – welcome to IHG bro. But obviously the big boi ain’t just gonna let it pass so easily; big boy Beh immediately uses his size to bully his way into the paint for an EZ layup and show them what’s up. While our defenders on court were still warming up, a KE7 player capitalized on the opportunity and pulled of a pretty nasty eurostep through our defence to end the first quarter 13-7 to Eusoff.

There will undeniably be much to come from this man, Jason, throughout IHG.

Eusoff’s game really got going in the second half, with numerous hustle plays being rewarded with rebounds – board man gets paid aye. Half Chinese, half Japanese, 100% Eusoffian Kenjun started the second quarter hot hustling for a rebound and being rewarded with a bucket and one. The lad then went on to pick the pockets of the KE7 defender for a free layup and later went on to drain a three point shot. Eusoff’s defence got notably tighter with good pressure on the KE7 players, forcing them to turn over the possession time and time again. The defence was so intimidating that the KE7 players didn’t dare to cross the halfway line and got an 8-second violation. The defence was so absurdly good that Wenjie was out there looking like a volleyball player thunder-blocking the KE7 players. The team managed to hold KE7 to just 4 points in this quarter: 33 – 11 to Eusoff.

Kenjun proved too much for KE7 to handle at times.

By the third quarter the game was just getting nasty – Wenjie was making big plays even taking on the entire KE7 defence just to finish with a clean floater into the basket. Super sub. Jinhao finally made it on court and drained his first three of the game with the third kick out to the corner – he really spent $1 for three tries. Good effort on both ends of the court on attack and defence resulted in the score being 47-13 to Eusoff by the end of the third quarter (KE7 only managed to get 2 points/1 basket this quarter, oof).

Having reached the final quarter, the game was already looking pretty much in the bag. KE7 was buckling under the relentless pressure by the Eusoff basketballers. Alfred pulled out highlight plays from his bag; making an insane eurostep, zigging and zagging his way into the paint, trying a reverse layup under the rim but was unfortunately fouled hard on his way up and ended up getting 2 free throws instead of ending the KE7 defender’s basketball career. At this point, the lead was really just too insurmountable, and our basketballers clinched our first W of the season with a final score of 61-19 to Eusoff.

Alfred slipped through the crevices of KE7’s defence with so much ease.

Be sure to make it for our next game against TH on 2nd Feb 3pm @ USC for another action packed basketball game!
