Riding on the victory from 2 weeks ago against KE7, Eusoff Basketball (M) team looked to solidify their position at the top of the group in today’s match against PGP. Let’s dive straight into the game to find out how our boys did.
Line 1: Darren, Khan, Weng Yew, Kenson (14-4, win)
The first line featured Weng Yew, Kenson, Darren as well as Khan. Darren opened up the series early with a nice jumper on the top of the key, but PGP clapped back immediately with a 3 pointer off the right wing. Darren once again responded with a 3 pointer followed by a Khan midrange jumper to give Eusoff the lead. The game was as intense as it could get, led by a series of insane hustling that had multiple players dive onto the floor to save loose balls, but Eusoff came up on top to secure the possession. KE played hard and shot a tough fadeaway over Eusoff for the bucket, but a quick run completely stopped KE’s scoring momentum and went into the half up 9 to 4. The boys clamped up their defense and did not allow KE to score a single point in the second half, as Weng Yew continued his hot streak and torched KE to secure the 14 to 4 win for Eusoff.
Darren catches the ball mid-air and goes for a layup, almost ankle breaking PGP...
Line 2: Oscar, Tien, Beh, Brendon (17-11, win)
Line 2 featured a ton of star players and rising stars from Eusoff, with the likes of Oscar, Tien, Beh and Brendon. This match served as a huge challenge for Eusoff to overcome, playing against an extremely strong team from the PGP lineup. Eusoff ran one of the most famous set plays, Beh post-up. Beh used his size advantage to bully the PGP defenders down low and kicked the ball out to wide-open shooters on the wing. A gorgeous post spin move by him helped to open up the game. While PGP’s relentless attempts at the rim were denied by Eusoff’s strong and experienced defenders, they managed to draw multiple fouls and nailed their free-throws to keep the scoreline competitive. PGP even took the lead off a 3 point shot, but Eusoff kept the score even at 7 apiece going into the half. Eusoff turned up the heat in the second half, clamping the KE’s offense while scoring a ton of layups on the offensive end to take the lead. Eusoff hall never looked back, as they continued to play hard and secured a huge turnaround from the first half, ending the match with a 17 to 11 dub.

Line 3: Ian, Denzel, JJ, Jared (16-14, win)
Riding on the 2-0 lead, line 3 hoped to complete the 3-0 sweep with the lineup featuring the likes of Ian, Denzel, JJ and Jared. The game opened up with Eusoff attacking the paint relentlessly, hitting a few key layups and a free throw to jump to a quick 5 to 3 lead. PGP caught fire to score a few consecutive buckets including an and-one, but it was Ian who attempted to stop the run by PGP, hitting a midrange shot that rolled in softly off the rim to keep Eusoff in the game. PGP responded with a huge 7 to 2 run to close the half, jumping to a 10-7 lead. Eusoff attempted a comeback, playing good defense and stripping PGP on a few key possessions. At a tight scoreline for 14-14, the game came down to the wire and every possession mattered. The true star of the game was Denzel, who buried an ice cold 3 pointer to steal the set away from PGP, as the whole basketball team came together and surrounded him to celebrate the huge game winner.
players all reaching out for the stars... is national day here yet?
Fantastic all around play by Eusoff Hall. Despite the tough competition against PGP, our boys hustled hard and emerged victorious. This game truly highlighted the spirit of Eusoff basketball, to always never give up in the match and to take each possession one step at a time to surmount the comeback. Catch them again this Wednesday again where they will be facing Raffles Hall at 9pm!
