With a strong showing last Friday against RH, Eusoff Basketball (F) is back for yet another round of display of skill against KE in the second preliminary match. Let’s jump in to find out how they performed this time at USC Sports Hall.

Set 1: Han Xi, Jermaine, Shanice, Xin Yin (10-4, win)

The first set featured the same solid starting lineup, Han Xi, Jermaine, Shanice and Xin Yin. The key to Eusoff securing set 1 was the girls dominating the match on the defensive side of the ball. Han Xi’s active hands led to a steal and opens the match 1-0 with a gorgeous rightie layup. Jermaine followed up with a clean 3 pointer that ended with a swish, and another lucky bounce off the rim 3 pointer attempt for Eusoff to pull away with a 6-0 lead. With more defensive highlights that featured Jermaine, her interception of the passing lane caused multiple turnovers for KE and led to easy drives and buckets for Xin Yin and Shanice. To top it all off, a key block from inside the paint sealed the victory for Eusoff. Fantastic showing on defense by the girls!

Set 2: Mabel, Michelle, Nicole, Tamelly (17-2, win)

The second set highlighted some of the best offensive weapons IHG has ever seen, with Mabel, Michelle, Nicole and Tamelly leading the way. Nicole started off the game hot, hitting a tough post up hook shot for the opener. A gorgeous dime from Tamelly to a cutting Nicole furthered the lead for Eusoff. Nicole continued to hustle, this time poking the ball loose from KE and finding the open Mabel for a layup. Mabel, the offensive prowess, had a couple of highlight plays too! After getting the offensive rebound, Mabel came up with a spin move that completely dazzled, dropping her defender on the floor for the layup. Despite the KE defender hustling hard for the ball and falling to the ground, our Eusoff Basketball Team showed great sportsmanship by helping the KE defender get up before continuing the game. The game is truly greater than basketball!

Tamelly dashes through the open space and leaves her opponents in awe (and stress)

Set 3: Angela, Yeehui, Cheryl, Jamie (11-4, win)

The last match of the night featured Angela, Yeehui, Cheryl and Jamie, where Eusoff looked to close out the series with a 3-0 victory, and sure they did. A backdoor cut followed by a layup by Angela started a quick run for Eusoff, and Yeehui poured in a 3 pointer while Cheryl chipped in a mid range jumper to start set 3, bringing a score of 5-1 in favour of Eusoff. KE played extremely hard to make Eusoff run down the shot clock, but great teamwork by all our Eusoffians on the sideline to shout out the shot clock timer to avoid the turnover. Feeding off that energy, the team completed the set with an astonishing 11 to 4 victory.
