OVERALL EH 4-1 KR
First player up was Gladys Loo who was so comfortable playing second that she forgot it was her turn and started sitting down to spectate. Luckily, her teammates were there to remind her that she needed to get her ass on court and win a point asap. Reluctantly, Gladys picked up her racket and went to play. Because of her forgetfulness she played damn badly in the first set and dropped 8 points. After a good scolding from Elis, she upped her game and won her second set 21-1. At 20-0 she felt a bit paiseh and decided to serve out one point. Okay nvm she just said “no i didn't feel paiseh at all”, so I guess she genuinely just served out. Ok next match!
The first doubles was Aderes and Huilin who actually remembered which position they were playing, so they were ready to destroy their opponent! Since they were in a charitable mood, they smashed a few shuttlecocks into the net during the first set. To quote Clara, “I never see Huilin so generous before sia”. In the second set I think they wanted to wrap it up faster to watch Celine play the IVP player so they finished it fast game 21-5 with some sick smashes ;). Good job ladies!
Captain Celine keeps her poise and calmly serves despite facing an intimidating opponent
The match of the day was captain Celine, who was up against KR’s IVP player. Despite her injured ankle, Celine limped onto court still looking damn fierce… so alpha meh. Anyway, the scores remained close the whole match, with her opponent maintaining a small lead throughout. Despite many well placed shots and strong attacks, her opponent managed to return many shuttlecocks over the net and eventually took the first set 21-16. After some advice from her team, Celine continued fighting hard in the second set, remaining neck and neck until 15-15. Sadly her opponent took the next few points and went on to win the second set 21-15. It’s okay Celine you are still damn cool and that's a W by itself.
Freshies Gwen and Felicia were up next, with Felicia proclaiming “Gwen is going to carry me!”. Well both girls pulled their weight and worked well together, taking an early lead and continuing to widen the margins until they won their first set 21-8. They continued their streak and with some amazing footwork and gr8 chemistry, went on to take the second set 21-8 also. Their win meant that EUSOFF GIRLS ARE IN THE FINALS!! Well done ladies <3
Elis puts up a good show with her hard serves, hearsay the motivation behind them was mala shaker fries?
Next up was our favourite beast player Elis, who was all warmed up and ready for her match. Despite some haters and the lack of support from her team who was busy ordering Mcdonalds behind her while she was fighting hard for the team, Elis put on a good show and showed off some cool moves, taking the first set 21-10. With the promise of Mala shaker fries awaiting her, Elis fast forwarded her match and won the next at 21-10 as well, to the delight of her teammates who were waiting for her to finish so they could use her mcdonalds delivery app to order food.
Congratulations to our girls for getting into the finals, hopefully they are as hungry for a gold medal as they were for mekdonald today, because they will be facing the temasek titans in the finals!! Rain or pain, hope we win gold again. Ok kidding badminton is indoors anyway, and our team has had enough pain already. Also that's not our slogan. Peace out Eusoff.
