Less than 24 hours after suffering a devastating loss to TH. Eusoff M team is back with a vengeance. Again, we will have two matches happening concurrently, one singles and one doubles.

First Singles: James

James started his debut game with a close start with the score being relatively even up till 5-4. It was at this point when someone said he poured milk first then cereal and James took it personally. He proceeded to go on a 16-1 run against his opponent, swiping the opponent’s cookies from his hands and eating it for himself, leaving only crumbs for him. Feels bad for KR but they played Eusoff on a bad day and James was having none of it. He won the first set convincingly. Like taking candy from a baby, James continued his ruthless aggression, absolutely pwning his opponent with a score of 21-1, leaving me nothing to write about. His smashes were undoubtedly beautiful and he made loads of clever shots that KR just had no answer to. James takes the set and the match with a score of 21-5, 21-1, close game.

Our player looking calm and composed as he takes KR on.

First doubles: Cyrus and Jeremy

The duo played a relatively closer game than James at the start. Both teams seemed to be of equal strength and it was tough to see who had the upper hand…. or so I thought. Cyrus, the notable freshie was in fact very notable, his clever tip followed by hard smashes puts Eusoff in the driver seat, destination: victory. Notable highlights were Jeremy’s clever shots forcing the opponent to wear ankle guards because he broke his ankles. KR then had to bust out the infamous moppy to wipe away their tears , sweat. Cyrus and Jeremy closed the match with a score of 21-12, 21-15. A much closer game but cock dont lie and the better team won.

Senior Jeremy showing the freshies how it works!

Second singles: Randall

Randall, the first player that had to play back to back matches. Having played a super intense and long game yesterday, there were concerns whether he had the stamina for today. Those concerns were for nothing. He was simply leagues above his opponent. Starting the game 8-0. Eusoffians are really merciless. Randall being a medicine student is full of empathy and generosity, giving his opponent some charity points before ending the set 21-12. The second set was a lot closer, Randall and his opponent were neck and neck until the 20th point. Sike. It was a landslide win for Randall, easily amassing a 5 point lead and only steadily expanding it until he eventually won the second set and eventually the game 21-15.

Randall coming back with a vengeance after yesterday's game, jumping so high, I thought he could fly.

Second doubles: Kaijie and Arthur

At this point, Eusoff is up 3-0 and have already won so this match was really for entertainment purposes and entertainment was truly provided. Perhaps KR thought that IHG would be very friendly and would be a safe place to play for fun. That may be the case but not when you are playing against monsters like Arthur who “accidentally” smash the cock to his face followed by a cock shot. Yikes. He might quit badminton after this. It was like watching target practise for Kaijie and Arthur as they try to target the shuttle to their face and crotch area. I am sure those were all just “accidents”. Arthur and Kaijie eventually won their games 21-8, 21-11 with 3 face shots and 4 crotch shots added to their resume which I think they should add to their LinkedIn profile.

Freshies teaching us teamwork makes the dream work!

Final singes: Danson

Suffering a heartbreaking loss the day before, Danson looked across the court and saw nothing but an opponent he wanted to destroy. That’s exactly what he did, smashes after smashes, smart plays after another, KR simply was no match for this man. Hearsay he did it even with an injured finger that was as purple as Barney the dinosaur, he how good? (Although tbh, he could play with his left hand and he would still win). They did get some lucky shots in scoring some point, scraping the net and having the shuttle tip over, a tactic taken from Temasek’s textbook. However, it was a fatal error as it only reminded Danson of those annoying points taken away from him yesterday as he continued his live target practice. Danson eventually ended his match with a score of 21-6, 21-5, bringing the match score to 5:0 EH.

Honour to Danson who insisted on playing back-to-back matches despite his swollen pinkie from the previous match.

Congratulations to our boys for making it to the semis after two matches back to back, let’s give them our support in the semis which would undoubtedly be an easy dub before they face off against their rivals which is Temasek. Until then, rest well and come back stronger Badminton team!
