21-13, 21-13 (W/W)

2nd Singles Brian

3rd Singles Jie Rui

21-8, 21-11 (W/W)

The night started off once again at Kent Ridge Hall, and this time our yellow racket minions would be playing against Kent Ridge Hall themselves, formidable opponents who made it to the Semi Finals . Today’s match up was an all or nothing winner takes all, passing onto the finals to face their opponents.

1st Singles Oscar

Mr. Oscar, fresh off Jam N Hop, was in peak shape to play his match today. Much like how a boxer feels fresh after weight control, Oscar was glowing as he took the court and much like his overwhelming demeanour, he overwhelmed his opponent easily 21-1 in the first set and won his match comfortably, taking the first W for our yellow racket minions.

1st Doubles Huang Zhang, Charles

Veteran duo Huan Zhang and Charles really be out there making me feel like I'm seeing doubles with their similar positions and facial expressions

Our captain and our veteran take their doubles simultaneously with our singles, hoping to take another W alongside their junior. Though KR took an early lead, they crept back up and took their first lead 3-4, pushing harder and controlling the tempo. Veteran Charles sneaked in a few drop shots to secure easier points, with Huang Zhang defending well. With that, they took the lead all the way and won two sets in a row. Though the second set was the same score as the first set (planned), they took it much more comfortably, securing our second W of the day.

2nd Singles Brian

Brian had a rough start to his match, with the KR player taking a 4-7 lead in the first set. The tides started to turn when a good judge led to the KR serve being out, and him closing the gap. Though he played phenomenal offence, the KR player managed to rally hard as well and defend. Losing his first set 14-21,he came back to the second set standing tall. However, the KR player went on the offence this time and knocked in a few good smashes. However, he managed to improve his record to 16-21. Good job Brian!

2nd Doubles Si Zheng, Jeremy

Honestly, I though Si Heng was playing and I was so impressed cause multi-sport talent but of course Si Heng isn’t that talented, so for 2nd doubles we have Si Zheng and Jem!

Due to the simultaneous matches, I wasn’t able to cover this match as well as I would have loved to, and it was over by the time I got to it. Winning both sets comfortably, we were through to the finals as overall winners of the day already!

3rd Singles Jie Rui

Eusoff choker champion Jie Rui finessing hard on the court

Though we already won overall, Jie Rui still decided to play his match, and as per the Eusoff vibe, took an early 3-0 deficit against KR. However, as per the Eusoff vibe, he caught back up and went 7-4 up on a few good smashes.

With his confidence regained, he went for more finesse shots and went up to 11-5.He mixed in drop shots with smashes, forcing his opponent to 360 keblakang puseng multiple times, and tiring him out, eventually winning the first set 21-8. His second set was similar, taking it well with his expert finesse.

Good job to all our minions in the racket sport team and congratulations on getting into the finals! Just a bit more and we’ll be champions! Push on Boyes!
