My apologies for not being able to provide y’all with top tier commentaries the past few matches. I promise I’ll be back soon :’). (KIDDING thanks so much David for covering me the past few times). Yesterday our badminton boys faced Sheares, their toughest opponent yet. However, both our captain and vice-captain Oscar and Zikai were confident that our boys would bring home the victory for us.

Leading the charge against Sheares, captain Oscar steps onto the court. He starts off slow, giving his opponent many opportunities to attack, reaching the mid-game interval with a 2 point deficit of 9-11. Thereafter, Oscar found his rhythm and played with absolute class, clapping his opponent 21-14, sealing the first set easily. With Oscar in the zone, he cruised through the second set, even finding time to coach the 1st doubles while comfortably taking the second set 21-10.

1st singles: Oscar 21-14, 21-10 (W/W)

Happening concurrently in the neighbouring court was 1st doubles Shawn and Javier. Unlike Oscar, Shawn and Javier faced fierce competition from their opponents. They went toe to toe with their opponents, with each side forcing the other to really work for every point. Unfortunately, Shawn and Javier fell short, losing the first set 25-27. In the second set, we were treated to excellent rallies by both sides, as both sides refused to let the other pull away. They went against each other point after point. However, Shawn and Javier managed to narrowly escape with a 21-17 win. In the third set, both sides managed to keep up with each other, a very commendable feat by both teams as rubber sets are generally the most physically taxing. At the mid game interval, Shawn and Javier were down 9-11. With Oscar’s stellar coaching, they managed to turn the tables and proceeded to win the third set 21-18. Absolutely spectacular badminton.

1st doubles: Shawn & Javier 25-27, 21-17, 21-18 (L/W/W)

i know both of u damn fast but dont fight for the shuttlecock plz yall r on the same team...

In the 2nd singles, Jierui started off slow, allowing his opponent to capitalise on unforced errors, reaching the mid game interval with a small lead of 11-9. After the mid game interval, Jierui found his groove and went on a spree, taking the first set 21-11. The second game went smoothly for Jierui as he took the win comfortably 21-10, sealing the victory for Eusoff, securing our place in the semi finals.

2nd singles: Jierui 21-11, 21-10 (W/W)

In the 2nd doubles, we have Lionel and Sizheng. With the most powerful smashes in EHBT, Lionel and Sizheng made their opponent scramble around the court. Initially, their opponents had answers to their smashes and drops, giving Lionel and Sizheng a difficult time on court. However, with immaculate placement and speed, Lionel and Sizheng managed to clinch the first set 21-16. Finding their groove, Lionel and Sizheng struts towards victory, comfortably taking the second set 21-13.

2nd doubles: Lionel & Sizheng 21-16, 21-13 (W/W)

Lastly, we have our business bashie and tiktok star, Danson in the last singles. Both Danson and his opponent refused to let each other pull away, keeping the scores neck to neck. After a series of wonderful rallies, Danson narrowly escapes with a 21-19 win in the first set. In the second set, both sides continued to play classy badminton, forcing each other around the court. However, this time, Sheares managed to clinch the victory 19-21, bringing us to the third set. In the third set, they were still going at it point for point, to the point where you wonder, where exactly does their stamina come from. At 18-16, Sheares bench encouraged their player by offering a free Haidilao meal if he wins. With the new stakes, Sheares played like a wild beast and stole the last set 19-21. Guess we should offer our players Haidilao next time too (BIAP soup nicer tho).

Last singles: Danson 21-19, 19-21, 19-21 (W/L/L)

this high ass jump by the tiktok star is such a stark difference compared to when he dived to save a smash!
