The first senior we have today is Brianpokkatea!! The B in Brian must stand for busy because man took 5 days to answer my interview questions :(. Luckily for the badminton team, Brian no longer has to focus on trying to win Bash King this year so he is able to devote all his time to training! Brian started his badminton journey when he was in Secondary One, because he saw his younger brother playing and being the “jealous ass b***h” that he is, he wanted to one-up his brother in the sport. Badminton has helped Brian make a lot of great friends along the way, be it in poly or NUS, and he loves the speed at which the game is played as well as the strategies involved in it. Apart from all the friendships forged, badminton has also helped Brian improve his decision making skills, and keeps him fit! His favourite badminton memory in Eusoff was the hours training to be a doubles player, only to be sent out as a singles player during the IHG finals.. Oops. Although Brian loves everyone on his team, his favorite person is still Thuya because of how hardworking he is!
To end off his interview, Brian would like to offer a very original quote to everyone. “Just do it”
Next, we have the multitalented Weilynn! Weilynn started playing badminton when she was in primary school, because CCA was compulsory for everyone, and she felt very sporty so she decided to join badminton! Her love for badminton started when she would play it with her helper in the park, and continued because it kept her sporty. She also loves badminton because there are so many different ways to play the sport, so it never gets boring. Apart from keeping her fit and lean, badminton has also helped Weilynn make a lot of close friends over the years- but the only friend Weilynn needs is herself, because if she could be anyone on the team, she would want to be her own doubles partner, so that she can get the opportunity to partner herself <3. Apart from being so humble, Weilynn is also a star keeper for floorball, and she attributes her amazing skills in floorball to badminton, because it helped her improve her reflexes. Apart from being a keeper on court, Weilynn is also a keeper in real life: not only can she play sports, and dance, she is also the secretary for JCRC! Hit her up ASAP (must be above 180cm).
Here is another original quote that Weilynn gave us to end her very short interview! “Be fearless in pursuit of what sets your soul on fire”. Like badminton. Or hot guys.
