Swim M Freestyle Heats

Representing Eusoff in the Male Freestyle Individual Heats was our solo swimmer Renaldi, who made his debut on the final day! As he was the only representative of Eusoff, he was bound to compete only in the second heats against Temasek Hall, giving him ample time to either calm himself down or feel the nerves while he played the waiting game.

Alas, despite how the other races proceeded smoothly, the horn chose the wrong time to run out of air! That was not all! As the horn could not be used, the race would proceed after hearing a certain signal. Yet, it was not specified as to what cue should the swimmers start their swim, hence due to a slight mishap, Renaldi did not jump into the pool even as the swimmer from Temasek did for he was unclear of the signal in which he would begin his dive.

Have no fear as despite our initial worries, Renaldi was given another chance to take his swim! He was presented the opportunity to steal the spotlight and be the solo swimmer in the pool! Maybe it was due to the lack of pressure due to the absence of the other competitors but once the signal for the race to start was given, he dived into the pool with ease and sped the whole way down, zooming through the waters with power and speed. He kept a steady pace all the way to the finishing line, attaining a swim time of 33.19 seconds which was his personal best!

Although Eusoff did not win this match, kudos to Renaldi for keeping his cool despite the horn incident and for pushing through the entire way till the end! Nice job Renaldi!
