Kicking in at number 24 is the year 2, Joel Tan Jet Yen. He picked up Sepak Takraw in Eusoff with not much experience but now hails as one of the talented seniors to look out for this IHG.

Joel describes himself as a man with a mission. He has currently set himself on a 6 year FASS course. You might think, “Wah this guy bit the bochap bro.” But with his life philosophy being “Studies First” he probably wants to maximise his learning experience and suck in all the knowledge he can get. Wah so dedicated!!

Joel’s favourite pastime includes sleeping for 10 hours a day, but don’t mistake it for pure laziness. He’s recharging to make sure he gives his all for training hence the Jet in his name. Wah, songbo? Hearsay the man can run road relay training and play Summoners’ War at the same time. What a multi-talented multi-tasker!

With his sporting origins in Football, it’s no wonder Joel is one of the prominent seniors in Takraw. What’s another kick ball sport when he’s already kicking around so many balls during Football. For his best experience in Takraw, it is the 3v3 matches that the Takraw team has during practice that complete the package for Joel. However, due to the social distancing measures put in place, the 3v3 matches have become a problem because they exceed the 5 pax capacity. But, looking at the situation, it looks like Phase 3 is around the corner and the 3v3 matches are going to be back in business soon. The reason for that is possibly due to the sheer kicking power of Joel himself. He’s kicks were so strong that he managed to kick Phase 2 out of the way. Let’s hope that his kicking prowess increase so that Joel’s kicks can be the ones that kick Covid-19 away!
