The blistering friday morning sun signalled the start for our Frisbee team’s IHG, and they are ready to showcase the efforts of their hard work and efforts throughout the entire preseason. Throughout the entire carnival, our players played confidently and displayed grit and determination to win, despite the odds.

EH vs. RH

They kick off their IHG with a matchup against RH. Despite their best efforts, the RH proves to be no match for our experienced and talented frisbee players, with superstar Haoting easily intercepting their passes and setting us up for a counterattack that their players were defenceless against, easily winning us our first point. RH tried their best to fight back and equalised with a long pass that managed to slip pass our defences.

Not to be discouraged, our players got themselves back in the game, laying the groundwork for a second point with sick passes in front of the endzone to breakdown their defences. A series of beautiful passes coupled with perfectly timed runs into the endzone resulted in us leading 5-1 twenty-four minutes into the game. RH tries their best to counter after every point, but our players defend relentlessly and mercilessly, with Cheryl, Dmok and Benny putting up insane interceptions to force a changeover of possession and allow us to counter and easily score multiple points. Sportsman of the year Weishien casually plucks the disc out of the sky to win us another point, looking so effortless as he does it. RH attempts to recreate their first point with another long pass but it is easily intercepted by Kaibin, who sprints across the field in like 5 seconds to score another goal. The game ends 11-1 to Eusoff. What a win by our players!

Cheryl shows off her athleticism and absolutely SOARS in the air to intercept a pass.

EH vs. SH

After dismantling the RH team 11-1, our players face SH next. A beautiful huck to the endzone is picked up by Glenn, winning us a point in less than 10 seconds. Dragging the SH defences around the endzone, our players look to score but unfortunately Weishien drops the disc outside the endzone. Not to worry as he quickly atones by catching a sick pass in the endzone, putting us up once again. SH manages to slip past our defences to score one, but our players quickly regroup and score in 5 quick touches. Haoting whips a sharp pass that Mingsheng easily collects as he cuts in. Talk about the superstar connection!

Ming Sheng celebrates enthusiastically as he scores yet another point for his team.

SH show that they are unwilling to give up easily as they continue to put up a fight, eventually managing to slip past our defences to score another point. However, SH was left shocked as a series of sick cuts and dives led to Tonya handing the disc to Glenn in the endzone. SH continues to fight but their efforts are futile as our players defend mercilessly, with Benny and Luo Ling easily intercepting the discs and winning us possession. Our players continue to attack and a diving Mingsheng wins us another point. Eventually, the game ends 9-3 to Eusoff. They seem to be having fun on the field here.

EH vs. PGPH

Next to face our team is PGP. Starting on the offense, a series of passes from our players left the PGP defenders struggling to catch up. Our player send the disc into the endzone, but unfortunately Luo Ling is unable to get her hand on it. Not to worry as Weishien easily catches the disc in the endzone less than a minute later, putting us up. PGP is on the offense but not for long as TinTin with the sick intercept puts them on D. He then sends a perfectly placed pass that Ivan picks up in the endzone, doubling our lead.

PGP struggle to attack as our players expertly intercepts their passes, and TinTin again sends another beautiful pass into the endzone, this time to Jovina. PGP fight back and intercepts a pass to the endzone, but their attack does not last long as our players continue to defend and intercept, with Weishien sending one into the endzone for Toby to pick up. PGP’s players have less chemistry than a bunch of commuters bumping into each other on the MRT carriage, and our players easily exploit the gaping holes in their defences and score point after point, putting us up 6-0 in 16 minutes.

A series of sick passes evades the attempts of the PGP players to intercepts, and Georgia easily breezes past 5 players to collect the disc in the endzone. Not being complacent despite leading by 7 points, our players continue to defend hard and intercept, where a timely interception by Ivan catches them off guard and is easily picked up by Sharlene in the endzone. PGP rally hard and manages to bring the disc to the endzone, but Weishien’s quick interception denies them their first point. Weishien shows his speed as he easily outpaces the PGP players and beat them to the disc that Ker Wei sends into the endzone, ending the game at 11-0.

EH vs. KE

After demolishing the PGP team 11-0, our players set their sights in KE. Starting on D, our players exert pressure on the KE, forcing them into making errors and getting a turn over. Jumping onto the assist bandwagon, Tonya sends a beautiful pass that Georgia easily catches, whilst her defender trails helplessly behind, unable to keep up with her superior speed. KE presses on for a counter and manages to equalise. Our players regroup and fight back, with Haoting sending a pass that Dania catches on her perfectly timed run, slipping past defenders with ease. KE on the O but our players pressure relentlessly, winning possession. Not to miss out on the scoring action, Huiwen slides into the right place at the right time to pick up another point for Eusoff.

The PGP defender tries in vain to mark Georgia, but is once again displaced by her insane speed and Georgia picks up another point for us. A disc is later sent into the crowded endzone and a flying TinTin leaps over the sportsman of the year to get the disc. Our players keep up their pressure, and Luo Ling slaps the disc down right before the PGP player can get her hands on it. Jovina slips past 4 defenders unnoticed to collect another point, whilst a diving Ling Zheng later denies KE their second point. The game continues and KE scores a second point. They look shocked and so are we. The game then ends 7-2 to Eusoff.

EH vs. KR

Up next: KR. Mingsheng’s sick intercept in the endzone denies KR their first point, and Cheryl catches the disc on our counter to score our first point. Glenn warns a KR player to watch his pushing, later intercepting a pass that is sent to the endzone for Dmok. We warned you not to mess with Glenn. We continue our interceptions and counters quickly, scoring point after point. A KR player attempts to slap the disc to Jovina out, but her lightning fast reflexes see her grab it right before it touches the ground. What a MVP!! Mingsheng runs to catch the disc and his defender follows, but he is too fast for the KR player to catch, scoring another point. KR attempts to beat us through a long pass, but trackstar TinTin sprints pass the KR player to intercept his disc. I bet the KR player wishes he was faster. They continue to attack but our players intercept mercilessly, winning point after point on the counter. Sportsman of the year Weishien with the sliding intercept, and Kaibin with the sliding catch to win the next point. Is this where they learnt to slide into DMs? But anyways, we continue to score and the game ends 11-0 to Eusoff once again.

EH vs. TH

At long last, the game that everyone has been waiting for: EH vs TH. The match of the century. David vs Goliath. The battle between superpowers. Eusoff strikes first as Dmok sprints into the endzone to catch the disc. We are up 1-0. We are defending hard and a flying Dmok slaps the disc right before his TH opponent can catch it.

Dmok with a sick intercept against formidable foes, TH.

Next up, coach Glenn strikes to double our lead, leaving his defenders struggling to keep up. Sick D by Jia Wei to intercept passes between TH players! An unforced error results in a changeover of possession, but our players fight hard to keep them contained. Unfortunately TH is able to break past the tight defense and score one. TH continues to attack and eventually equalises. Our players continue to fight hard and Mingsheng sends the disc through, but unfortunately it slips through Dania’s hands. However, she does not miss the next one as Ker Wei sees an opening and sends the disc through, with Dania running through and catching the disc, giving us the lead once again. The play continues and Mingsheng beats his sliding defender to catch the disc, doubling our lead. TH is on the O and despite their best efforts, our players are unable to shut them down, allowing them to score two and equalise. They continue to fight hard to defend but a series of errors results in TH scoring two more and leading 6-4. The players on the sideline shout words of encouragement and the supporters decked in yellow scream and shout for our players as they keep fighting and try their best to deny TH the victory. However, TH manages to score the last point and win the game 7-4.

Freshie superstar Glenn marks his opponent with ferocity.

Despite the heartbreaking defeat, our players have played their hearts out on the field and given their all. Even though they did not win the gold in the end, they are still the best players in our hearts, and sometimes even giants stumble but we believe that they will come back stronger and claim victory for Eusoff in the IHG games to come!
